Benicia stood in the office by herself

Benicia stood in the office by herself. She received a call from Karen that she was taking a sick day because she wasn't feeling good. And then Zoe sent a text about wanting to be a doting girlfriend and take care of Karen. At this point, Benicia was just getting used to the office being empty. She stared over at the door for a long moment, wondering if either Foggy or Matt would come walking in.

Her phone went off and she immediately answered when she saw that it was Ben, "Hey, is he back?"

"No. His kid plays the cello, got a solo. Looks like there's a reception after."

Benicia mumbled a little curse, "Did you try his phone?"

"Yeah, he's not picking up. Look, sit tight until he gets back and I can run this past thim. And keep your eyes open, oka?"

Benicia took her glasses off and leaned against her desk while pinching the bridge of her nose, "Yeah. You, too. Uh, hang on a second-" She heard her phone beep in her ear and pulled away to check who was calling, "Yeah, I gotta take this. It's Matt."

"I'll call you when I know something."

Benicia quickly changed over to Matt as she put her glasses back on, "Hey, you coming in?"

"I had a rough morning. I'm gonna need the day." Benicia shut her eyes at what Matt had said. "Listen... I'm working on something. I think it might help. But until I know for sure, I need you to stay out of it. If you talk to Foggy, you tell him the same?"

Benicia pressed her lips tightly together and nodded before she answered, "Yeah... I'll pass it along if I- If I even talk to him."

"Uh, Benicia..." Matt whispered into the phone, "Everything's gonna work out... I promise."

"Yeah." Benicia mumbled, "See you tomorrow."

She placed her phone on her desk and stared back at the door. Benicia then looked around at the empty office spaces and just let out a long and tired sigh.

"There." Rhea put a new gauze over the wound on Matt's waist and backed away from him, "How did she sound?"

"Upset." Matt groaned while tossing his phone to the side, pressed one palm to his wound to just check, "She's alone at the office."

Rhea sighed and tugged the gloves off of her hands, "Why isn't Zoe or Karen there?"

"I don't know." Matt answered and got up from the sofa. "We need to go."

"Did you really find the hideout?" Rhea questioned as she pulled her mask on and stared at the wounds on Matt, "You should really be letting those heal."

"You're not."

"I haven't been jumping around the city like a parkour junkie all day." Rhea shot over at him, "You could have told me and I could have helped."
