"I'm going to kick his fucking ass." Zoe was tapping her fingers on the table. She glanced back at the door again and shut her eyes, "I'm killing him."
Foggy was just as anxious as she was as he looked up at the ceiling, "Today, of all days I mean... He said he'd be late, but this is ridiculous."
Benicia leaned forward a bit to look past Karen and Zoe, "Foggy, what is going on with him?"
That was when Zoe shot a look directly at Foggy because essentially they all pretty much knew how to answer that. And just when Foggy was about to create another lie to tell her the bailiff spoke.
"All rise." Everyone in the court stood up, "Court is now in session, the Honorable Judge Cynthia Batzer presiding. Indictment number 1986-4447, The People v. Frank Castle."
"Be seated."
Frank sat down and glanced at the table, "Looks like you're a man down."
Benicia shot him a dirty look, "Being an asshole's not helping."
"Being nice won't help either."
Karen sank a little bit in her seat, "Oh, God..."
Zoe shook her head, "I'll strangle him too."
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury-" The judge bena, "-the defendant has been indicted for several serious crimes. But I'm instructing you, as a point of law..."
Foggy leaned to Zoe as he rambled, "You know those college stress dreams, when you show up to your class in your underwear?"
Zoe just nodded her head in complete understanding, "Me. Us. How we feel. I hate this. I'm killing him. Fuck... Matt was supposed to deliver the opening."
"Shit..."
"Fuck." Zoe repeated again, "I'm going to have to, aren't I?" She looked at Foggy, who looked petrified, "Oh fuck-"
"Ms. Reyes, are the People ready to begin opening statements?"
"More than ready, Your Honor."
Benicia cleared her throat and leaned forward, "Should we be worried? I mean... Matt can possibly actually miss this, right?"
Zoe shared this look with Foggy before she glanced back to where Rhea was. Who was on her phone. Which meant that Rhea was worried that Matt wasn't there either.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, Frank Castle-"
Benicia stared at Reyes as she started her opening statement before she glanced over at Frank. He was focused on what Reyes was saying until he realized that Benicia had been staring at him. She heard the words serial killer from Reyes and finally looked away from him.
"Mr. Nelson and Ms. Mercier, are you prepared with your opening statement?"
