Zoe looked around at her at home office with an irritated look on her face. The damn earthquake knocked so many of her things onto the floor. She was just grateful her wedding photo didn't break. She brushed it off and took a long look at it. Both her and Karen decided that they wanted to wear dresses. Karen wore a strapless baby blue chiffon empire waist gown that was paired with a baby blue cropped blazer to match. Her bouquet was a mix of Queen of night tulips and diabolo ninebarks. While Zoe wore a black a-line gown. The dress had a tulle look to fluff it out but the skirt underneath the tulle was crepe. It had long puff sleeves that revealed another glove-like sleeves that cling to her arms in flower patterns. The same pattern went along the trim of her chest and up around her shoulders. Her bouquet was meant to match Karen, with blue morning glories and delphiniums. Karen had anyone dressed for her side in dark shades of blue, while Zoe had her party wear silvers and grays.
It was such a lovely day. There weren't that many people, a lot of those who came were actually clients of Nelson and Murdock which was really sweet. Father Latum actually officiated it for them, he never cared about the kind of backlash he could receive as a Catholic priest officiating a lesbian wedding. Zoe took a bit of convincing on Karen's end to hold it in a church, but it had been Father Latum that eventually sold her on it.
And did she purposely aim her bouquet at Rhea when her and Karen did the toss? Yes. She just really wanted Rhea and Foggy to get married next. What had baffled her more was the fact that Benicia ended up catching Karen's bouquet. She hasn't even been paying attention during the catch either, it actually hit her before it fell into her arms. The fact that it was unintentional was crazy for Zoe.
Each of their friends has spoken at the dinner as well. Zoe was only expecting their maid's of honor to speak on them, but Matt and Foggy had something to say as well. Karen had been a little testy eyed while Zoe basically sobbed. Zoe demanded that Rhea and Benicia to help fix her makeup once the speeches were over, which made all the guests laugh.
Zoe knew that that day was going to be in her mind forever. The honeymoon was something completely different. It was soothing to be out of the States and to St. Lucia. They took a lot of photos the entire time.
"Reminiscing?"
Zoe jumped at the appearance of Karen in the room, "Jesus... Uh, yeah, just thinking about our wedding."
Karen started to clean up the office space a little bit, "You're sweet." She paused at the desk played with the dress ball that Zoe had, "Did you get Foggy's text?"
Zoe furrowed her brows, "What? He sent us a text?"
"Yep." Karen cleared her throat and put the stress ball down, "He's pretty upset apparently."
"Why? What happened?"
"Matt went out last night after the big earthquake. He wasn't in his suit but Foggy said that Matt's knuckles were bloody."
