One thing Zoe learned. Loud noises didn't affect her at all. She had Rhea's scream fully blasted in her face at one point and her ears were fine. No ringing. Nothing. It was absolutely crazy to her to suddenly see this change. Did unexpected noise still scare her? Yes. But she was getting better at controlling the light. Apparently, the vibrations of sound create some sort of light. The louder the sound the more powerful the light is. At some point, Rhea whispered and Zoe was able to create a little spark which was adorable.
The full scream from Rhea actually causes the entire toom to look like a bomb had gone off.
"Okay." Rhea put her hands on her hips. She was using the old boxing center since she knew it was abandoned. She kind of felt bad because this was Matt's secret place for himself but it was the easiest place for her to think of. "Let's test aiming."
Zoe groaned loudly. She was good at creating bursts of light. That she could control, but Rhea wanted to see if she could concentrate it's positions now. Since Rhea was able to control the sound like bullets at this point. "Can't I just have a break?"
"Do you need a break?" Rhea blinked, "Sorry. Sorry. Yeah, take a seat."
Zoe just dropped down to the ground with a sigh. She stretched her legs out in front of her. Not only was she training to control the power, but she was having Rhea spar her daily. She figured it would be useful if she ever needed it. "There's something useless and useful about all of our powers."
"Oh, yeah?" Rhea sat down on the ground in front of her, "Elaboration?"
"Well, I create light. Not particularly helpful but can be beneficial. It's not like... overpowered." Zoe started, using her hands in an animated fashion, "And you. Well, your scream sure can fuck people up but it's also not overpowered. And then Benny's thing is almost like a defense."
"I guess so." Rhea took a drink from her bottle, "I never really thought about it. I try not to use my powers too much because it can leave pretty bad injuries."
"What am I supposed to do with these powers?" Zoe flopped back and stared directly up at the roof, "I mean... It'd be cool to go out and work with you."
"I rarely go out as Wailing Woman now." Rhea mumbled softly as she tugged her knees to her chest, "Honestly, Danny has been doing a lot for Hell's Kitchen but he's mellowed out about it too."
"What would I even get called? Flash Bang?"
Rhea wrinkled her nose, "That's terrible."
"It is. I just can't think of anything else." Zoe stretched her legs out and forced herself to sit up, "What do you think I can do with these powers? Like... can I just light things up or could I do more."
"Well, you learn more the more you use them." Rhea hopped up to stand up on her feet, "So, let's get going."
Zoe sighed and accepted Rhea's helping hand, "But what if we just not do that and go get lunch?"
