Foggy and Zoe had spoken that entire morning together. They were at Rhea and Zoe's shared apartment, but at this point it was Rhea and Foggy's apartment. All they did was talk about the trial, but then it turned into how they both needed to have a serious conversation with Matt. Zoe was pissed at him and so was Foggy, but both of them had very different points of views of what they should do. Finally, the two decided that they would present something to Matt and however he answered would determine how they'd continue forward.

Matt opened the door to his own apartment, "Hey."

Zoe and Foggy's eyes landed on the blood stained gauze Matt had on his chest. Foggy voiced his concerns, "You're hurt?"

Matt just scowled as he zipped his sweater closed, "What makes you say that?"

Zoe shook her head in disbelief and sighed, "Can we come in?"

"Yeah."

Foggy waited until Zoe had completely entered with him, "We need to talk."

"It's not a great time-"

"Well, it never is anyone. Not with you lately." Zoe crossed her arms as she turned to face him. She was done. She was tired with this back and forth banter between them all. "And that's the point, so we'll make this brief."

Foggy glanced at Zoe before he exhaled, "We think we should shutter the office for a few weeks. It may be drastic, but after everything that just happened, we need to think about our priorities. To decide how to proceed with our law firm."

Matt tucked his hands into the hoodies' pockets, "Are you talking about our firm.... Or our friendship?"

Zoe's expression didn't change as she looked at his solemn expression, "For a while, they went hand-in-hand."

"I think you're right." Matt finally spoke. "I think putting some distance between us is smart."

Foggy's expression dropped, "What?"

"Isn't that what you wanted?"

Foggy finally interjected and expressed his true feelings, "No, that's not- What I wanted was time for us to rethink things. Zoe agreed."

"Time isn't going to change who I am, or what I do."

Zoe just shook her head, "Seriously?"

"I don't want to talk about that."

"Yes, you do." Matt pressed, "That's why you both came."

"No, don't put shit in our mouths, Matt." Zoe raised a pointed finger at him, "You're not allowed to tell us why we came here."

"We came to talk to our friend, not the vigilante." Foggy walked past him because he just wanted to leave. He didn't see this conversation going any further with Matt's attitude.

"They're the same person."

"You-" Zoe still hadn't moved, "So? Are you currently fighting against villains? Against criminals? You're talking to your fucking friends, Matt. There's no protecting us from bullshit situations in here because it's just us. We deserve better than this. We deserve to have a friend that pulls his weight in a case, not someone that shoves all his work off to us. We covered for your ass. We deserve fucking better than that."
