SHE CRIES all of her frustration while taking a cold shower. All of her friends went home after what happened because Xaia keeps on pushing them away. Her heart fell as she sees defeat in her eyes. She felt like she failed protecting the one who keeps her sane. Xaia was there when Ream was drowning but she wasn't there when she did. Xaia saved her for countless of times before and she...

I failed saving her again.

"Stop this pain. Please. I know that I failed..." Umiiyak niyang sabi at sunod-sunod na kinabog ang dibdib. "I was supposed to protect her too but I failed. When she succeeded saving me... I failed..."

Kinuha niya ang baril na nakalapag sa sahig malapit sa bathtub. Hindi niya mapigilang sisihin ang sarili sa nangyari. Mahal niya ang kaibigan bilang kapatid. At hindi niya matanggap na wala man lang siyang nagawa para iligtas ito. Para maiwasan ang pagkamatay ng kaisa-isang tao na tinanggap ni Xaia. Alam niya na pinilit lang nitong mabuhay pagkatapos ang nangyari limang taon nang nakakaraan.

Ngunit ngayon na naulit ito at nawala pa ang kaisa-isang lalaki na minahal nito, hindi na niya alam kung kakayanin ito ng kaibigan. Lubos niyang sinisisi ang sarili dahil hindi niya nahanap kaagad ang lalaki. Ang masama pa roon ay nasa paligid lang pala nila ito.

"Ream, open this door!" Sigaw ni Poseidon na nasa labas ng pintuan. "I heard what happened and I quickly went here because it affects you so much. Please, Ream. Open this door."

Hindi niya pinansin ang sinabi nito at pinadausdos ang nguso ng baril sa sentido.

"Ream!" Sigaw ni Poseidon at malakas na itinulak ang pinto na naging dahilan para mapatigil siya. "Please, don't. Ream, please." Agad itong umiiyak na yumakap sa hubo't-hubad niyang katawan. "No, please. I can't lose you, Ream. I can't. Please."

"It's my fault..." Humahagulgol niyang saad kasabay ng pagkuha nito sa hawak niyang baril. "If I was quick enough to know the enemy. If I didn't leave by her side, then this would've happened. Everything is my fault. My friends are all I have. And I swore to protect them..."

"Ream, none of these is your fault." Malungkot nitong sabi at hindi inalintana ang tubig na tumatama rito. "Please, stop blaming yourself for everything. The misfortunes and the sins of others are not your fault, Ream..."

"But I," Hindi niya mapigilang mapasigaw ng malakas. Isang naghihinagpis. Isang tumatangis. Isang malakas at puno ng galit na sigaw. "My enemies. They are behind this. Our enemies. I don't know. I don't know which enemy. I don't know."

"I don't know anything about your past before we met." Hinalikan nito ang tuktok ng ulo niya. "I don't know what to do to make you feel at peace. I can't understand a thing about it but I'm here." Iniangat nito ang ulo niya at marahan siyang ginawaran ng halik sa noo. "I won't leave you. Even if you ask me to. I won't."

"Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko, Sei. I'm slowly losing my chains. Slowly losing everything." Mahina niyang sambit at hinayaang lumuwag ang pagyakap niya rito. "I'm slowly drifting. Just like you. Slowly drifting away..."

"What are you talking about, Ream? You know that you can trust me." He said as he comforts her. "I will understand you. Every bit of it. Every bit of you."

"No, you won't." Walang emosyon niyang saad at kumalas na pagkakayakap. He's too precious for her. And she can't taint that. She can't let him in. "You can leave, Sei."

"I will not, Ream. You need me. And I can't afford to see you again..." Humina at mas lumalim ang boses nito. "I can't see you again in that state. I just can't."
