I decided to walk to Central Park, It wasn't far from the studio. Once I got there I laid on the grass with trees surrounding me and I looked up at the sky. There were birds singing and a warm breeze blew the vibrant green leaves on the trees. I closed my eyes and just listened.
"Thought I'd find you here" a voice came from behind me. I tilted my head back and saw Timothee. I smiled up at him, his green eyes matching with the trees.
"How'd you know?" honestly shocked he'd found me.
"Because I know you" he laid next to me and I got a wave of deja vu because this had happened before.
"Anyway how'd it go?"
"Good" I paused for a minute "I signed with Republic Records" I said calmly.
He turned his face towards me and rolled over pulling me into a hug. His arms wrapped around my waist.
"Ahhhh that's amazing Lucie" he said while our bodies were squashed together on the grass. He was being silly and trying to make me laugh and he succeeded. Timothee had a perfect mixture of both a fun, silly childlike personality while also being serious, sensitive and emotional.
I ended up laying on top of him. Putting my hands flat on his chest and laying my chin on top, I looked up at him. Messy tangled hair that unlike mine always looked good. A smile that both warmed and hurt my heart. Green eyes that changed dependant on the weather. Today them seemed more green. And while I lay on him I realised I loved him, not just as a friend not Platonically but something more.
"What's up?" He asked me. I'd completely zoned out and he must've noticed the shear panic on my face.
"Oh uh...n-nothing" I got off him and returned to the soft grass laying back down and taking a deep breath.
"I don't believe you" Turning his head and examining my face.
"Why not?" Still looking up at the clouds.
"Because I can tell when you're lying"
"No you can't"
"Yeah I can" I knew he was trying to get me to tell him what it was I was thinking about, but there was no way he was getting it out of me.
I didn't respond to him just stared up at the sky which was incredibly hard when he was staring right at me, but I was determined not to give in. I let out a sigh and got up walking into a section full of trees.
I felt a soft hand grab my wrist. I didn't need to look back to know it was Timothee. The feeling of his skin on mine only made me want him more which didn't help.
"Hey" I could hear the frown in his voice.
"What?" Looking at him.
"Just tell me what's up" He was serious now and I wanted to tell him so badly but I couldn't. I really didn't want to ruin our friendship. It would break me. But how was I going to continue being friends with him if when I felt butterflies every time he looked at me. All these thoughts swirled around my mind.
"Nothings up. I should probably just get back...I'm uh really tired" Usually I was the best liar there was, but not to Timmy.
He went in front of me blocking my path. I backed up but hit a tree. I looked up. It was a beautiful huge oak tree with apple green leaves. I was stuck between the tree and Timothee. He came closer to me and I tried not looking at him.
His face grew into confusion, he could tell I was avoiding eye contact.
"Lucie what's up? Just tell me"
I finally looked at him, his face so close to mine I could smell the mint on his breath. My heart was racing so much it couldn't possibly go any faster. He had a faint smile on his face.
Wind blew through the air, making the leaves on the trees swish and sway. A piece of my hair blew across my face. Timothee reached up to grab it and tucked the curl behind my ear. Why was he doing this. Did he know how felt about him and was doing this on purpose. Or was he simply just moving a piece of her from my face.
"I can't tell you" I said looking down.
"You can't tell me?" Behind his eyes I could see him processing and figuring out what that meant. Like trying to solve a riddle or equation.
I pushed past him and started walking back to my apartment.
"Where you going?"
"Home...I mean my apartment" I shouted back.
Walking back to my apartment, which didn't take long, I thought about...things. A lot of things.
When I got back I threw my bag on the floor and collapsed on the couch. Why did this have to happen.
"Ugh" I let out a groan before hearing a knock at the door.
I opened the door with a frown already on my face knowing it would be Timothee.
