Fifth Avenue was one of the places you have to visit if you come to New York and is exactly where I took my mum and sister.

"I feel like a famous person" Katie said as she strutted down the street to the next shop.

"Of course you do" I said.

After loads of shopping we put the bags back in their hotel room which was super nice and close to my apartment.

"Do you wanna go out for tea?" I said.

"Yes I'm starving" my mum instantly responded.

"Oh right jet lag, you both must be tired and hungry" I said.

"I'm not tired just hungry" Katie jumped.

"I mean we could get room service" I said.

"Yes then I can lie in bed and eat food" my sister said flopping back on her bed.

"I thought you weren't tired?"

"My legs are"

"Room service sounds good to me. We can eat out the other nights" my mum agreed.

I got pasta, my mum got steak and my sister got pizza of course. We talked and talked and talked. I asked about the cats, who I missed so much and my brother and dad.

"They couldn't make it but they miss you" my mum told me.

"I like that boy" my sister hiding a smile.

"You mean Timothee?" I said.

"He looks familiar" she said.

"Does he?" I said back hoping she'd drop it.

"Yeah he does look familiar" my mum agreed.

I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed a bag of cadburys buttons out the mini fridge that my sister had brought for me. I'd given her a list of snacks to bring with her that I'd been missing.

"So are you gonna show us any songs?" Katie asked.

"Absolutely not"

"Why"

"Because"

They both looked at me but moved onto something else. I'd missed them so much and it was going to be hard when they left.

The next day we went to Central Park because I knew my mum would love it and it was my favourite part of New York. We took some food and sat on the grass all day.

"So tomorrow I'm working but I'm free in the evening" I said while biting into a strawberry.

"Me and your sister can do some more touristy things"

"Don't be buying any 'I love New York' things" I laughed.

"You're joking right. Mum would never" Katie said.

"Course I'm joking"

"Where we going for tea tonight?" Katie asked.

"You know it's dinner here" I said.

"You should invite Timothee" my mum said.

"To dinner?"

"Yeah It'll be nice to get to know him"

"Why do you want to know him?"

"Because he's your friend"

"Yes please Lucie, I like him" my sister begged.

"Yeah I can see that" rolling my eyes "ok yeah I'll ask him to come" feeling the anxiety turning my stomach.

I got back to the apartment and jumped in the shower, singing along to Ariana Grande. Wrapping a towel round me and lightly patting my hair dry, my phone buzzed and it was Timothee saying he'd love to come.
