enzo and may were away looking for oscar's car. julian mentioned at the party that he was looking for his car because something special was in it.
when damon overheard that, he asked may and enzo to go look while him and stefan tried to get lily to see julian was a bad man.
may and enzo walked through the junkyard full of cars.
"why would julian, a centuries old vampire with a bunch of witch groupies be so desperate to find something that's collecting dust in this impound? seems a little bit like a waste of time." may said.
"speaking of which, we never actually discussed your age." enzo said, changing the topic.
"huh, you wanna ask a lady about her age?" may asked him with a chuckle.
"i just meant it like, if you're older than julian why don't you help kill him?" enzo said with a shrug.
"subtle. i am 412 years old so, i'm actually younger than him." may told him as enzo nodded.
"would you look at that." enzo said seeing a yellow car that matched the license plate number they were given.
"that wasn't too difficult." may said.
"i'm assuming julian doesn't want it for its bluebook value. charming." enzo said as he got closer to the car.
he opened the trunk revealing some old beer cans and bottles. they saw the truck had another opening and enzo lifted the rug before pulling out a sword.
"a sword." may said looking at it.
"i'll wager this is what julian's looking for. wonder what makes it so special." enzo asked examining it closely.
"i'll call bonnie, she might be able to help us." may said.
she took out her phone and took a photo of the sword before sending it to bonnie.
bonnie called her not long after the text and may answered it.
"bonnie, the photo i just sent you, do you recognize that sword?" may asked her.
"i think i've seen it before when i was doing research on the stone. let me do some digging." bonnie replied.
"thanks, bonnie." may replied before hanging up the phone.
while may and enzo were walking back to their car to go home, enzo stopped for a moment. may looked at him, wondering why he had stopped.
"i just have to ask, what is it we're doing?" enzo asked her.
"uh, we're getting this sword home to find out why julian wanted it." may told him with a chuckle.
"no, i mean, with us. what are we doing?" enzo asked her before she took a moment to think.
"i wanna be together, enzo. i know i've been confusing with everything, but life is too short and we owe it to each other to at least try." may said before enzo pulled her close to him and smiled.
"so does this mean you'll officially be my girl, mabel wilkins?" enzo asked her with a warm smile on his face.
"yes, lorenzo st. john." may said before their lips connected.
this kiss wasn't like the others they had shared, this one had passion like they'd never felt before. their kiss was filled with the cravings they had so badly wanted in the past.

bonnie learned that the phenix stone belonged on the sword. that way, whoever got stabbed with it with go into the sword and their soul would be trapped inside.
after getting the sword, damon had tried to kill julian even after knowing his mother's life was linked to julian's.
however, the sword didn't kill him because it's powerless without the stone.
may and enzo decided to go for drinks after the day was over. enzo brought her drink over to the table and she let out a sigh.
"stefan told me today didn't go so well." may said.
"i can't say the same." enzo said smiling at her as she lightly shoved him.
"neither can i." may said before they touched their glasses together.
they both took a sip of their drink at the same time and may smiled at him.
"i always wondered what life would've been like if we'd never reunited." may said as enzo shrugged.
"even if we hadn't, you still came into my life with a purpose." enzo said with a small smile on his face.
"and what purpose may that be?" may asked him as she took another sip of her drink.
"you came into my life to show me that mere moments can create lasting memories. you revived my hopeless eyes, so i could see the true beauty the world held." enzo explained to her which made her cheeks heat up.
"everyone thought it was silly at first, that i fell for you. i don't think anyone else had ever seen the side of you that i see. kind, loyal, caring." may said as she placed her hand on top of his.
"strange, isn't it. you know yourself better than anyone else in the whole world, yet you break at the words of someone who hasn't lived your life for a second. the world is filled with people who think they know you. listen to no ones voice but yours. no ones gut but yours. only you know you." enzo said as he kissed her softly.
may couldn't believe that her and enzo were finally together. all years of searching for him, being reunited, they were finally together.
"i don't think i've ever felt this happy in centuries." may admitted.
enzo felt good that he was the reason for her feeling of happiness.
"i'm so happy to be here with you, mabel." enzo said pulling her close to him.
he loved how small she was compared to him. although she was older, she was much shorter than him.
may connected their lips together and it didn't take long before their kiss got heated.
they left their drinks at the table and went to the restroom where they got time alone to make love for the third time.
both of them were so content just being with the other.
