"what do you mean there's another one of me out there?" stefan asked.
"never stopped to think there might be another doppelgänger roaming around? clearly, you don't know your traveler lore." enzo said.
"i'm sorry, and you do?" caroline asked him.
"i've been stuck with them for the past few weeks, i've picked up a few things. like how the last remaining pair of doppelgängers are special." enzo said.
"special how?" caroline asked.
"none of your business." sloan said.
"you'll have to excuse sloan. she's under a bit of stress. and the leader of the travelers marcus was it?" enzo asked her.
"markos." sloan corrected him.
"markos, see? wants the blood from the last remaining pair of doppelgängers. i.e., you and elena." enzo explained.
"why?" caroline asked.
"normally anyone who wants doppelgängers, doesn't want them for good." may said.
"apparently you're special." enzo said.
"special how?" stefan asked him.
"don't think i didn't ask. as you've witnessed, the travelers are very secretive. but what we do know is that until the last doppelgängers out of the picture, your blood, when mixed with elena's, doesn't do squat." enzo explained.
"so what? you do a locator spell to find this guy and then you kill him?" stefan asked.
"it's more of a linking spell." sloan said.
"yeah, no way." may said.
"last time a witch linked me to my doppelgänger, she fried my brain and i lost my memory." stefan said.
"then we better be careful." sloan replied.

"look, i know there's a lot of them but between you, me, may and enzo, i bet we can take them." caroline said once they were away from the travelers.
"did you really just say that?" stefan asked her.
"travelers are like witches, and i don't mess with witches." may said.
"sorry. i'm desperate." caroline said.
"it'll be fine." stefan said.
"yeah. until you lose your memory again." caroline said.
"yeah, i'd also prefer that didn't happen." may said.
"well, if i lose my memory, then i won't remember i had anything to worry about in the first place. see? win win." stefan said.
"ha ha very funny." may said.
"who volunteers themselves for witchy electric shock therapy?" caroline asked him.
"me, and i would do it for either of you. look. let's just say that they do fry my brain-" stefan began but caroline cut him off.
"i'll kill them." caroline said.
"and i'd probably help." may said.
"right. and then you guys will spiral out of control about killing them. and then, do me a favor. remind me we were all friends." stefan said as they walked up to a chair that sloan had put out.
