stefan was gone with elena since she wanted a weekend getaway at her parents lake house.
damon and alaric went to the lockwood house to investigate elijah more.
since john had given damon a dagger and ashes claiming it would kill elijah, damon was curious if john was telling the truth.
after the event, damon and alaric joined may in the living room for a drink.
"today was a bust." damon said.
"yeah. how's the throat?" alaric asked him.
"sore." damon replied.
"did elijah stab you in the throat?" may asked as damon nodded his head.
"yeah, that elijah's one scary dude. but with nice hair. hey, you guys want another one?" alaric asked as may and damon nodded.
alaric took their glasses to give them all a refill.
"thank you." may said.
"ugh, he's gonna be hard to kill." damon said.
"yeah. i'd think twice before i'd trust that dagger and some ashes to do the job. you're gonna need more info." alaric said.
"i'm out of sources." damon said.
"speaking of sources, did i see andy star here this morning?" may asked.
"yeah, what's up with you and this news chick?" alaric asked as he passed damon and may their drinks.
"ooh. she's got spunk, huh?" damon asked.
"just don't kill her, please." alaric told him.
"if i did, who would report her death?" damon asked.
"wow, damon." may said as she drank the alcohol.
"just don't do it, all right? she's friends with jenna and it's bad enough that i'm lying about everything else. i hate the lies. oh, god. i gotta go. i gotta pick jenna up. don't worry. i'll, uh, show myself out." alaric said as he got up to leave.
"bye, ric." may said.
"good luck." damon said.
they both heard a thud and something fall on the ground making the two vampires get up.
when they went out into the hall they saw alaric had a stake in his side.
"oh, my god." may said as alaric fell to the ground.
a two guys dropped down from the ceiling and tackled damon and may.
they injected both of them with vervain but they kept fighting, may more than damon.
"this one is gonna need another!" the guy said about may.
he was thrown another syringe and he plunged it into may's neck.
"damn, they're strong. it took the whole syringe and two for her." the guy said.
they saw more werewolves walk into the house.
"grab that one. he's dead." the guy said as his friends grabbed alaric.
"hi, damon. hi, may. nice to see you again." jules said.
"you bitch." may muttered.

once damon and may came to, they looked at each other and saw they were tied up with a bunch of chains and an odd contraption around their necks.
the contraption had stakes all around it. if someone pulled at their chains the stakes would go through their necks.
they saw that alaric was on the ground in front of them and he was still dead.
"good morning sunshines. i saw this movie once, some torture porn flick. anyway, they had this collar device that was, heh, really cool so i just modified it some with some wooden nails, and when i pull..." the guys said pulling at the chains.
both may and damon groaned in pain as the stakes went into their necks.
"so i hear you have the moonstone." jules said as damon started laughing.
"what is everyone's obsession with that bloody rock?" may said.
"oh, if you only knew the irony of this moment right now. let me tell you how this is gonna go. you're gonna torture us. we don't talk, someone loses a heart. last time it was your boy mason." damon said.
"this time, it'll be the two of you." jules said as the guy pulled on their chains again.
"if i get out of this chair i will rip off your heads." may gritted through her teeth.

"you know what the great thing about buckshot is? it scatters through the body. maximum damage. where's the moonstone." jules said pointing her gun at the vampires.
"get over it, honey. you're never gonna get it." damon said.
"you looking for this?" everyone heard making them turn their heads.
"elijah." may said finally seeing him with her own eyes.
elijah walked over to everyone and placed the moonstone on the table.
"go ahead. take it." elijah said.
one of the wolves charged for the moonstone but elijah grabbed them and ripped their heart out.
two other werewolves tried it as well but they were met with the same faith.
jules quickly ran away while the guy who pulled at the chains ducked on the floor in fear.
"what about you, sweetheart, huh? wanna take a shot? no? yes? no? where's the girl?" elijah asked.
"i don't know." damon replied.
"it doesn't really matter." elijah said as he punched the other werewolf, snapping his neck.
elijah went to undo may's chains first and then he went to help damon.
"thank you, elijah." may said to him.
"mabel, i wasn't aware you were in mystic falls." elijah said before he turned to damon.
"so you realize this is the third time i've saved your life now?" elijah said before he took the moonstone back and walked away.
after getting rid of the bodies and letting their bodies heal up, bonnie informed damon that elijah's plan was still to let elena die.
once elena died, klaus would be vulnerable and elijah could kill him.
may noticed that alaric was finally coming back to life.
"finally. you missed all the fun." damon said.
"right, fun." may said rolling her eyes.
damon made sure to call stefan to let him know that elijah's plan was for elena to die.
however may had a feeling that elena had that plan all along.
may went to her room and she was filled with memories after seeing elijah. she had been keeping a secret from everyone.
