mystic falls now had to deal with lily and her family of heretics. they murdered two people so may and caroline went to meet up with stefan.
"there's 5 heretics. 2 guys, 3 girls... and your mom isn't home." caroline said.
"enzo?" stefan asked as he saw may's face change.
her and enzo hadn't seen each other since lily came back into his life. she was worried he'd never come back to her.
"he's not there either, so if we're going to do this, now is our window." caroline said picking up the bomb that stefan was building.
"whoa, whoa." stefan said.
"show me how this works." caroline said.
"caroline, you did not just do that." may said with a chuckle.
"first of all, this is a bomb." stefan said as he gently took it away from her.
"okay." caroline said as she sat beside him.
"that there is a timer." stefan said pointing to it.
"i'm gonna set it for 60 seconds." stefan told her.
"60 seconds. got it." caroline said.
"are you sure that you want to do this?" stefan asked caroline.
"i have to do this. they lived in your house for 100 years. they've seen your picture. they'll recognize you immediately." caroline said.
"i'm just saying if you think this is a crazy plan, now's the time to speak up." stefan said.
"if there any version of this plan where you're not worried about me?" caroline asked as stefan smiled.
"probably not." stefan replied.
they two of them locked eyes and they were looking at each other lovingly.
"still here, guys." may spoke up as they glared at her.
after the bomb was finished, caroline and matt drove over to the heretics house. caroline was distracting them while matt snuck the bomb in the house.
caroline and matt were able to get out of the house in time before the bomb went off.

may and stefan went to matt's graduation, he was now an official deputy of mystic falls.
stefan looked over at may and he saw her checking her texts and he noticed enzo hadn't contacted her in weeks.
"i know it's none of my business but as your best friend, who cares i just wanna know what's going on with you and enzo?" stefan asked, may let out a sigh before fiddling with the rings on her fingers.
"i think your mother is stringing him along. she tried to get him to join her creepy family and enzo being an orphan and all, wants a family." may said as stefan scoffed.
"my mother just ruins everything, doesn't she?" stefan said as may shrugged.
she looked over her shoulder and saw three girls who looked like they were chanting.
"stefan, they're here. tell caroline." may said nudging over her shoulder.
once stefan saw them, he went to where caroline was to warn her.
the sprinklers started to go off out of nowhere and thr crowd began laughing.
after a couple minutes, the water turned to fire. may saw people was being grabbed and eaten by the heretics.
