when damon finally came back, all he could say was "i have to get her back." over and over again.
when everyone looked at him with confused looks, he tried to kill all of them.
caroline injected damon with vervain and they had him chained up in the lockwood house.
stefan informed damon about the weeks that he was gone. in those weeks julian had managed to take over mystic falls.
bonnie and matt were working together to stop julian's friends.
meanwhile, while stefan and damon went to check up on julian and his friends, caroline was having a baby shower.
the first game they played was putting a diaper on a fake baby... blindfolded.
may stood beside caroline and bonnie as they watched alaric, matt and tyler play.
"this is a nightmare. look at him." caroline said while bonnie recorded them.
"are you kidding me? this is the best blackmail material ever." bonnie said as may chuckled.
"i totally agree." may said.
"in t-minus a few short weeks, these babies are popping out of me and being handed over to him, their only parent... a man who's hardly inspiring any confidence." caroline said before the bell went off meaning the boys could take off their blindfolds.
"you worry too much, caroline." may told her.
"yes!" alaric said when he successfully put the diaper on.
"huh." caroline said with an impressed face.
"that's terrifying. you're never babysitting. neither of you... ever." alaric told matt and tyler.
tyler's baby had its diaper on but it lost its head in the process and matts baby had its diaper on its face.
caroline walked up to alaric to go talk to him while may stayed with bonnie.
"enzo didn't come with you?" bonnie asked her making may laugh.
"to a baby shower? not exactly his type of thing." may said as bonnie laughed, too.
"that's fair." bonnie replied.
"let's drink." may said before taking her hand and dragging her to get drinks with her.
as the party went on, may noticed nora had shown up with a gift for caroline. bonnie went to go talk to her and they seemed like friends.
after the party was over, may went to meet up with enzo. he was outside of the whitmore campus sitting under a tree.
"what are you doing under there?" may asked him with a smile before she sat beside him.
"i'm just sitting here waiting for my girl to come back from a vampire baby shower." enzo joked smiling back at his girl.
"we live crazy lives." may said before enzo grabbed her hand, lacing their fingers together.
"we certainly do, but i wouldn't want it any other way." enzo said.
"neither would i." may replied before she kissed him on the cheek and laid her head on his shoulder.

after nora got a threatening letter in the mail with a red letter x, she told bonnie about it.
nora said that it was from the huntress. when bonnie talked to may about it, she was hit was some old memories she thought she'd never have to think back to.
bonnie asked may to tag along with her mary-louise and nora to go find the huntress and kill her.
she had sent the same threatening letter to mary-louise and valerie. valerie brought hers to julian to put fear in him.
may was forced to sit in the back with mary-louise and she wanted to stab herself in the neck.
nora was eating some cheetos and mary-louise decided to make a snarky comment.
"since when do you eat disgusting garbage food?" mary-louise asked her.
"since i stopped caring about getting that exact reaction." nora said before offering some to bonnie and may.
"you do seem controlling." may said making mary-louise glare at her angrily.
"don't make me blow your head off." mary-louise threatened, may rolled her eyes at her.
"i have a question. if rayna was chasing you through europe in the 19th century, how exactly is she still alive?" bonnie asked nora.
"she was spelled to be a vampire huntress by shamans. they created that sword for her and imbued her with extraordinary strength. why shouldn't they give her a very long life to go with it?" nora explained.
"how did you know about her, may?" bonnie asked looking back at her.
"she and i had a run in during the 18th century. it's not a tale i thought i'd ever had to relive." may said before staring out the window.
"hey, do you remember that reading from class last week? you know, the one about those fragments of native american myths?" nora asked bonnie.
"uh, the everlastings." bonnie replied.
"ah, the everlastings." nora repeated.
"am i meant to be impressed you're study buddies at a second rate college?" mary-louise asked in a snarky tone.
"no. but feel free to try and be civil. otherwise, we will be more than happy to drop you off at the side of the road, and you can hitch a ride back to whatever rock you've been living under." bonnie said making nora and may chuckle.

the girls drove up to the stillwater state hospital. which was a facility for insane people.
"you know, i always thought i'd find damon here." may joked making bonnie laugh.
"a nuthouse for the criminally insane. seems promising." bonnie said as they walked through the entrance of the building.
"she is a deranged serial vampire killer. maybe karma caught up with her." mary-louise said.
"i'm sorry, i'm gonna need to see some I.D.s." a nurse said stopping them in their path.
"we're authorized personnel here to see a patient by the name or rayna cruz. tell us where to find her." nora said, compelling her.
"rayna cruz, room 658, north wing." the nurse said after looking her up on the computer.
nora snatched some personnel passes and they went over to find her room.
"so do we actually have a plan here?" bonnie asked them.
"if we find her, we kill her. you two will probably just watch." mary-louise said, looking at may and bonnie.
"excuse me? have you met her?" may asked her.
"don't be so cavalier, okay? you know what she's capable of?" nora said to her ex.
they finally stopped at rayna's room and they saw an elder woman laying in bed.
"what the hell." may said quietly.
"okay." nora said in a confused tone.
"this is your vicious, terrifying, big bad huntress? got it." bonnie said sarcastically.
