may and stefan were at her apartment since he needed to crash somewhere.
may was pouring him a glass of wine and then she poured herself one and they were sitting in her living room.
may saw her phone buzz and she picked it up to see a text from enzo. she let out a sigh and turned her phone back off.
"text from enzo?" stefan asked as may nodded.
"yeah, we kind of had a moment the other night when he came to my apartment." may said.
"so, you spent all this time looking for the guy, why aren't you trying to date him?" stefan asked as she shrugged.
"maybe it has to do with the fact that him and my best friend are enemies and i don't want to pick sides." may said as stefan nodded.
"well, maybe it's because i don't know him as well as you do. so, tell me." stefan said as may chuckled.
"tell you what?" may asked him.
"how you guys met, why you fell for him. maybe i just need to hear your side of things." stefan said while may got up and she grabbed the bottle of wine from the kitchen.
"then we're gonna need this." may joked.
"it was 1897 and lexi was helping you during one of your ripper times. i was in southampton england and i was trying to work on my own blood cravings. i was out for a walk when i saw this young man painting a house. at first, i didn't think he saw me but he asked what a lovely lady like myself was doing so late at night. after our chat i learned he was an orphan and i felt bad for him." may began as she poured herself another glass of wine.
"after that night, i went back to the house he was painting and we started to hang out more and more. there was this one day where i helped him with the finishing touches on the house and i got paint on my face, enzo laughed at me. he wiped it off and before i knew it, he leaned in and kissed me. in that moment i felt something for someone that i'd never felt for anyone." may said with a smile on her face.
"what made you give all that up?" stefan asked her as she looked down.
"i had compelled our way into a fancy ball one night, i thought enzo deserved a night of fun. we danced and the night was magical but there was this second where time stopped and all i could think about was biting into his neck. i needed to make a choice. the last time we hung out, he brought me on a picnic and it was probably the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for me... but i knew a vampire who wasn't in control couldn't be with a human, so, i compelled him to forget that we met, i compelled him to forget that i loved him. after that i had made sure he'd have a good paying job to start him on his better life." may said as stefan looked at her seeing pain behind her eyes.
"so, if enzo remembers all of this why haven't you guys talked about it?" stefan asked her.
"i guess there just hasn't been a right time to discuss it." may said.

after a long turn of events involving the gemini coven, kai ended up sucking up the anti magic spell put by the travelers.
mystic falls was now returned back to normal. after hearing the news, stefan and may met up with damon at the salvatore boarding house.
"well, we're home." damon said as they all stood at the entrance.
"yep." stefan said.
"i missed this place." may said with a warm smile.
"are you sticking around?" damon asked stefan.
"well, that depends. might have to kill jeremy if i find out that he slept in my bed." stefan joked.
"i didn't even think of the possibility that matt donovan has been all over here." may said as she let out a sigh.

may was woken up the next morning by something breaking and she grabbed her robe.
she walked out of her room and saw stefan was getting out of his room as well.
"what the hell is going on down there?" may asked as her and stefan walked downstairs.
they went into the kitchen but all they saw was jeremy in a towel.
"oh. that is not the first thing i wanna see in the morning." stefan said.
"ditto that." may said looking away.
"sorry, i forgot you guys lived here." jeremy said with a mug of coffee in hand.
"yeah. hey, uh, any chance you could help me out with some speakers at caroline's?" stefan asked him but he saw that he was already gone.
"thanks for the coffee." stefan said picking up the empty coffee pot.
"i could've used some right about now." may groaned.
they heard something else break and may let out a groan. they saw liv walk out of the living room with her shirt smoking.
"are you okay?" they heard jo asked her.
"yeah, yeah, fine. it's just clothes and skin. hey, where can i get a t shirt?" liv asked, the last part being directed towards stefan.
"damon's room. up the stairs, end of the hall." stefan told her.
"glad you didn't say from me." may said.
they saw that jo was in the living room and it was a bit of a mess.
"what are you doing to my house?" stefan asked her.
"fire spell. sort of. it turns out getting back in touch with magic isn't anything like riding a bike." jo explained.
"oh." stefan said looking at a broken vase.
"i am sorry about that vase though. was that expensive?" jo asked him.
"well, i don't know, but, the smithsonian would. you should call them." stefan said as alaric walked in with take out bags.
"oh, thank god, breakfast. please tell me that you brought mimosas." jo asked him.
"you actually think i'd watch this sober?" alaric asked her.
"and what exactly are we watching?" stefan asked them.
"today, we make s'mores. in a month, i win the merge and i become leader of my coven guaranteeing its survival. liv has me on a 30 day regimen between now and the next celestial event." jo explained.
"and this regimen has to happen in my living room why?" stefan asked them.
"damon feels guilty." alaric said.
"great, damon felt guilty." may said.
"well, that's new. and where the hell is he?" stefan asked them.
"yeah, he can't just turn our house into a circus and bail." may said.
