she wandered the streets of southampton, the night air was chilly but it was a nice night.
she kept walking, thinking about her next victim. she was hungry.
after awhile, she stopped seeing a young man who was painting the side of a house.
all she could think about was the hunger as she watched him.
"what's a lovely lady like yourself doing at this time of night?" the young man spoke, catching her off guard.
she didn't think that he had seen her.
"pardon me?" she asked not expecting him to talk to her.
"oh, i'm sorry if i startled you i just thought it was odd to see anyone walking around this time of night, especially a lovely lady like yourself." the young man said making her grin.
"i think i should be asking you what you're up to? painting in the middle of the night?" she replied.
"got to make a living somehow." the young man replied.
"your parents aren't worried about you being out this late?" she asked him.
"if i knew who my parents were i'm sure they would be." he said making her eyes soften.
suddenly she felt remorse for the young man she moments ago wanted to eat.
"you're an orphan?" she asked.
"yes, but i have a name. my friends call me ren." he said.
"well, ren i better get going if i'm going to get enough beauty sleep." she said.
"i'm not sure you need beauty sleep." ren said before she started to walk back to her flat.
"wait! can i perhaps ask, what's your name?" ren asked making her turn back to look at him.
"i'm-"
"may!" lexi said snapping her out of her thoughts.
"what? sorry?" may replied looking at her best friend in the drivers seat.
"i asked if you wanna take over and drive for a little bit." lexi asked.
"sure, pull over." may said as lexi pulled the car over.
"it's weird that he's back in mystic falls." lexi said as her and may changed seats.
"last time i spoke to him he told me it was to meet some girl." may replied.
"good, he deserves to be happy." lexi said.
may kept driving until they finally arrived in mystic falls.

the girls were finally at the salvatore boarding house. since lexi didn't have a daylight ring, they had to leave after sundown.
when they got into the house, they both hid and saw stefan their best friend walking around after hearing a noise.
may took the opportunity to push stefan from behind and lexi quickly jumped out and pinned stefan to the ground.
both girls hissed at him, showing their fangs and stefan's fear seemed to go away.
"lexi? may?" stefan said.
"hi." lexi said.
"hello stefan." may said with her charming british accent.
