elena was in the living room with damon, stefan and may. damon got her a blanket.
"hey... there you go. how you feeling?" damon asked her.
"the pains still there. the grief... and the shame. but i get it now. shutting it off, it's a cheat. i mean, you put up this wall and shut out everything that makes you who you are. nothing affects you, nothing matters. but things do matter... things that happen that can't be undone. and now i know that there's something i need to do about that." elena said.
"elena, what you need to do is rest, take it easy for a couple of days. maybe even a couple of years. here." stefan said trying to pass her a drink but she shock her head.
"i-i'm done resting. i have to get ready. there's so much that i have to do." elena said getting up to leave but damon stopped her.
"whoa. hey. what are you talking about?" damon asked her.
"think about it. it's so obvious. go back far enough, there's one person who brought us to this... who ruined our lives... and look at you two. everything that's happened to you, she did that. she brought klaus to mystic falls, she turned caroline into a vampire. she stole elijah from may. she killed my brother. it all comes down to her... katherine. okay, stefan said to focus on one thing, so i did. i focused on hate. and i hate her so much." elena said.
"well, i don't think that's what he meant." damon said.
"yeah, elena. i mean, we all hate her." may said.
"elena, katherine's not worth your time. even if you spend 10 minutes of your life hating her, she wins." stefan said.
"not if i kill her." elena replied.

may and stefan went to the hospital because sheriff forbes wanted to talk to them.
damon was already there and he got their attention when they walked in.
"you just missed the donuts." damon said.
"i do love a good donut." may said.
"yeah, i was with elena burning off a few thousand hate filled calories. what happened to you helping me?" stefan asked damon.
"help? yes. prolonging the inevitable, waste of my time." damon replied.
"hmm. you're avoiding. how unexpected." stefan said.
"i'm not avoiding. elena's only goal is to end katherine's life, and that's not gonna just magically disappear with pilates and a juice cleanse." damon said.
"i hate to say it, but he's right." may said letting out a sigh.
"hey, guys. thanks for coming." sheriff forbes said as she approached the three vampires.
"hey." stefan and may said at the same time.
"why were we invited?" damon asked her.
"well, the hospital has kept the blood banks empty ever since they were raided last month. we thought at the very least, it would help keep the vampire population away." sheriff forbes explained.
"and it didn't?" stefan asked her.
"see for yourself." she said before she lead them into someone room.
the patiences wrist were slit open and there was blood everywhere.
"whoa." damon said.
"what the hell is going on?" may asked.
"there were 4 other victims in this wing. each on almost completely drained of blood. you think it's silas?" sheriff forbes asked.
"or a doctor with some very questionable beside manners." damon said.
"i'd place my bets on silas." may replied.
"but 5 victims? it's a lot of blood and it's not like he can take it with him." sheriff forbes argued.
"unless he's fueling up for something big." stefan trailed off.
"big? any details would be helpful, considering i'm dealing with 5 grieving families out there and a psychic killer on the loose." sheriff forbes said.
"silas wants bonnie to do a spell to drop the veil from the other side." damon explained.
"i have no idea what that means." liz said honestly.
"it's an invisible wall that separates our plane from the plane of all dead supernatural creatures. now, silas wants that to go away so he can take the cure, die, and not have to spend an eternity in a supernatural purgatory." damon said giving her more details.
"and when do you suppose silas plans on doing this?" liz asked him.
"next full moon. tomorrow night." damon replied.

while they were at the hospital, the power in the whole town went out.
"the power outages originated at 3 different places in town... the young farm, the lockwood estate, and a blown transformer off old miller road." sheriff forbes said marking it on a map.
"that can't be a coincidence." may said.
"these are the locations of the silas massacres. it's the expression triangle. bonnie must be doing the spell." stefan said connecting the marking and drawing a triangle.
"so much for needing a full moon." damon said.
"there's something else. one of the power company guys has a daughter who goes to school with bonnie. he saw her leaving the young farm and hour ago. with elena." sheriff forbes said.
"with elena?" may asked.
"but caroline's with elena." stefan said.
"looks like bonnie bennett has a new doppelgänger friend." damon said as they concluded that she was with katherine.
"so, how do we find them?" sheriff forbes asked.
"well, they just be somewhere in the triangle. my guess is that they'd be right in the middle." stefan said circling the middle of the triangle.
"and where exactly might that be?" damon asked.

stefan, damon and may drove over to the high school and they saw elena was walking towards them.
it was super windy out and may hated that. she was never one for storms.
"where's caroline?" stefan asked.
"inside looking for bonnie. i think we should split up. damon and i can look outside while you and may look inside." elena said.
"good idea, we'll find caroline too." may said.
"all right. let me know if you find anything." stefan said before him and may went into the school.
