"call him, damon." may said.
"may..." damon began but may cut him off.
"i don't give a damn about katherine's life and i know you don't either. not over stefan's life. now get jeremy on the phone or i will." may said.
damon let out a sigh and grabbed his phone, calling jeremy.
"hey." jeremy said picking up the phone.
"how far did you get?" damon asked him.
"you said not to tell you." jeremy replied.
"you pick now to listen to me?" damon argued.
"we just passed old miller road." jeremy said.
"good. turn around. bring her back." damon said.
"what? no." katherine said before jeremy hung up the phone.
it had been a little too long of a wait and damon was getting worried.
"ooh. your thoughts are churning. it's like a spool of pink taffy. it's very messy, but very fun to watch." silas said.
"anyone ever tell you that's creepy?" damon asked.
"you're worried. you're both worried. jeremy's not answering the phone. they should be back by now. you guys think something is very wrong." silas said.
"damon's right, it is creepy. would you mind knocking that off?" may asked in an annoyed tone.

may and damon got in his car and they found jeremy lying in the middle of the road and his car was smashed in a pole.
damon acted quicker than may and he was trying to give jeremy his blood.
"jeremy. aah! open your eyes, jer. you do not get to die on me, you hear me? i'm supposed to be taking care of you, you little punk. wake up or i'll kill you myself." damon said.
"come on, jeremy." may said before she heard him groan and he opened his eyes.
"uhh. katherine is gone." jeremy said.
"i don't care." damon replied.
"that's the last concern at the moment, silas can suck it." may said with a light chuckle.
in this moment, she saw damon in the way that elena must see him. he did care for people, very few. but he cares.
after jeremy got up and he was okay, damon called elena to see how she was.
her and caroline's third roommate was attacked by a vampire. elena also found a photo of her roommate with her father on her phone.
"you didn't tell her silas was here." jeremy said once damon hung up the phone.
"nor did i tell her stefan's missing, katherine's in town or you got expelled." damon said.
"so you lied." jeremy said.
"no, i withheld a bit of the truth... so that elena wouldn't drop everything and come running home to help. i'll figure all this out." damon said.
"you know, that sounds exactly like something a liar would say." may joked making jeremy laugh.
when they went back home, may didn't see silas or katherine so she went up to bed. she thought they could deal with this tomorrow.
she fell asleep and immediately she dreamt of stefan. she saw him again, in that box... drowning.
may let out a gasp and she shot up from her sleep.
"stefan." may said feeling out of breathe.

may and damon asked sheriff forbes for her help in finding stefan. they were all at the quarry looking for any signs of stefan.
"guys, i know i said i'd help find stefan, but i can't dredge this entire quarry. it's enormous." liz said.
"i'm aware of that. i mean, clearly, that's why we wanted to dump silas' body here. because it's big, and deep and no one would find him. now, say i'm silas, and i want to take over my doppelgängers life... why wouldn't i dump him in a place that's big and deep, where no one would find him?" damon asked.
"damon, i already agreed to hold off telling anyone about the mayor's death until you figure this all out. but, i can't devote those resources to finding one person... who may or may not be down there." liz argued.
"he has to be down there." may said.
"it's a place to start. and if stefan's down there, he's been drowning over and over again all summer... while i've been happily playing house with elena. do i need to further elaborate the source of my urgency?" damon asked.
"i'll get some deputies on it." liz replied.
"thank you! thank!" may said before liz made her way back to her car.
"thank you, liz." damon said before his phone started to ring.
"is it jeremy?" may asked damon as he nodded.
"please tell me you found her." damon said answering jeremy's call.
"i didn't. but matt did." jeremy replied.
"ah. how shockingly useful." damon said.
"point donovan." may said.
"she was mid cat fight with some lady who maced her. we think silas might have mind controlled himself some new friends." jeremy said.
"how exactly did the gilbert-donovan brain trust put all that together? never mind. it doesn't matter. just hide her. if silas wants her bad enough to sic the town on her, that means, we want her more. stay out of sight. you're the last person silas saw her with." damon said before he hung up.
"not sure i love that we now need to fight to keep katherine alive." may said letting out a sigh.
"me neither, but silas getting what he wants is worse than katherine having what she wants." damon said.
"that's fair." may replied.

liz came back with some deputies and some gear to search the quarry.
damon was on the phone with elena. she was updating him on her little mission to find what what happened to her roommate.
elena had joined the class of doctor wes maxfield who signed her roommate megan's death certificate, ruling it as a suicide when she had bite marks on her neck.
before elena hung up, she said she saw stefan and he asked her to hang up on damon.
"why would silas go see elena?" may asked.
"i don't know, but we need to get to whitemore, now." damon said.
