58. Couple Of Dates

~NEW YEAR'S EVE, 2022~

"He won't be scared?" I asked Kennedy as I was holding Leo in my arms

"He will but nothing too serious because there are not many people around that are having a lot of fireworks" she said, and I nodded as Leo pulled the lock of my hair playing with it

"You like playing with hair, huh?" I asked as he just smiled at me

For a year and half old baby, he is already so smart, and it seems he already understand a lot of things but is still waiting to start talking. He is so adorable little boy and beautiful mix of both Kennedy and James' genes.

"The baby suits you Ela, you need to work on your own one" James provoked as I just rolled my eyes putting Leo on the floor and sitting beside him as he was crawling

"You need to talk with her about it" I heard James telling Ben, but I decided to ignore it

The evening, until Leo fell asleep, Kennedy and I spent talking about girls' things and how she is getting along with motherhood while we were sitting with Leo on the floor. At that time Ben and James were, of course, playing PlayStation and talking about football. They played few matches and then took Leo on the couch as they were playing with him until he fell asleep.

Soon after fireworks started shooting Leo woke up and James took him in his arms holding him to see fireworks through the window. Ben had his arm wrapped around my waist holding me close to him. As we heard clock ticking midnight Ben kissed me just as James Kennedy as well, the best friends.

THREE WEEKS LATER

I'm not counting after the fifth date we were on, but I think today is our, about, 10th date, and we are going on ice skating. It's middle of January and almost all ice-skating rinks are about to be closed but we found time for today to finally go on that date.

"Are you sure you know this?" Ben asked as he was carefully but clumsy going on ice holding my hands tightly

"don't you dare to let go of me" he said, and I just laughed at him

"Come on, you'll be okay, I'm here to take care of you" I winked at him leading him slowly moving around ice

"No, Ela, no" he almost screamed when I was slowly getting away from his hands

"Come on, it's not that hard" I said skating backwards showing him with my hands to slowly come to me

"Come on" I said, and he slowly let go of fence slowly moving but two steps later he fell on the ice as I burst into laughter

"Come on clumsy" I said helping him to stand up, but I almost also fall but thank god for my strength so I stayed on feet

"I'm never doing this again" he said after he stood up and he didn't let go out fence for the next half hour

"Oh damn" he mumbled as he took off his ice skaters standing on his feet

"what's wrong?" I asked trying not to burst into laughter because I knew what was wrong

"My legs are hurting" he said barely walking

"aren't you a professional footballer? Or I changed you with someone?" I asked as I couldn't hold my laughter anymore

"don't mess with me" he said pulling me by waist closer to him not letting me away from him

"I'm so excited for next dates" he said as we were walking through streets, his arm around my shoulders holding my hand

"Me too" I said kissing him on the cheek

TWO WEEKS LATER

"He pulls me tight against him and I laugh. With everything that has happened since the day he came into my life; I never expected this outcome. I've hoped for it a lot, but until now I wasn't sure if it would ever happen. I close my eyes when I feel his lips meet the spot on my collarbone. He presses a gentle kiss there and it feels just like the first time he kissed me there all those years ago. He brings his mouth to my ear and in a whisper, he says, you can stop swimming now, Lily. We finally reached the shore." Ben read the last page of book we've been reading together the whole weekend

He was sitting on couch while I was laying with my head on his lap looking at ceiling and listening to him reading last 100 pages of It Ends with Us.

It was another date and for this date we had to read book together. Since I've heard a lot of good things about this book but have never read it, we decided to buy it and spend the weekend reading it, about 90-100 pages per day and after three evenings of us reading it we finally finished it. We agreed that every day when we read, he will read the half of pages and the other half that I will read.

The position we're now has been our position for the past two evenings. When I was reading, he was lying with his head on my lap and when he was reading, like now, I was lying with my head on his lap.

"The end" he said looking down at me as he put book next to his legs

"Are you tired?" he asked putting the locks of my hair behind my ears as I just nodded

"Come on" he sat me up but soon enough I was in his arms as he was carrying me to room

He laid me down on bed and he laid beside me wrapping his arms around me. He pulled covers over us and few moments later I was deep in dreams.
