52. Birthday Boy

FOUR MONTHS LATER

It's been four months since I talked with my parents after 9 years, let's just say we are getting along well, they are some small quarrels sometimes but it's because of stupid reasons and bad past we had. Today is Ben's 26th birthday but he couldn't make it to stay at home. He has match tomorrow and he needed to go to training, and he won't be home for the whole day since they have a lot of things to do. I, on the other hand, took a day off, barely but I got it.

In the morning right after Ben left, I left too. I went to Bedfordshire to pick Daisy up and now we are making Ben home party.

"Where do I need to put these?" Daisy asked showing me big wooden numbers filled with balloons

"You don't put these anywhere, they are too big and too heavy for you" I said pinching her cheeks as I moved numbers in front of wall in living room where we already put balloons in the air

"I really like those balloons" Daisy said looking up at balloons

"Do you think he will like them?" I asked

"definitely" she smiled at me

"cake" I said when we heard bell

I opened doors and got surprised with Alex and Ben's parents standing in front of me.

"Hey, come on in" I smiled at them, I didn't know they will come but fingers crossed I won't fucked anything since it's my first-time meeting Ben's parents in person, doing it without him, nice

"Ela, this is my mum Sally and my dad Wayne, Ben's too" Alex laughed

"I'm Ela, nice to meet you" I said shaking hands with them and warmly smiling to leave as good first impression in person as I can

"it's nice to finally meet you" Ben's mum said and his dad said the same a second later

"it's cake here?" I heard Daisy saying from living room

"No Dais" I said and leading Ben's family to living room "This is my sister Daisy" I said as we walked into living room

"Daisy, this is Ben's mum Sally, Ben's dad Wayne and sister Alex" I said as she just shyly smiled at them saying hi to them

"Hey, how old are you?" Alex asked Daisy

"I'm nine" she said as Alex just smiled

"cake" Daisy cheered as bell rang once again

"If Ben didn't come earlier" I said not really wanting that to be true

"it's cake" Daisy said giggling at me as I walked towards the door

I opened the door and yes, it was Ben's cake.

"Thank you" I said to deliver taking cake and closing doors

"I told you" Daisy said happily as Ben's parents and Alex were just smiling at her as they were sitting on couch

"You can just take a quick look and we are storing it in the fridge" I said taking cover from cake and showing her cake

"it's so beautiful, he will love it" she said smiling as her eyes were shining

"Alex, can you help me with this?" Daisy asked showing Alex Happy Birthday inscription.

"of course," Alex said and helped her putting inscription on

"And we finished" Daisy cheered and not even a second later bell rang

Dang, we finished just at time, I thought, and Daisy told everyone to hide in kitchen as I went to open the doors.
