I am a fox,
Who masquerades
As a person,
Who masquerades
As another,
Who masquerades
As the people I used
To know,
For in my world of lies
I can't risk turning my back
And allow myself to be
Murdered by a knife
In someone's unseen hands
Because I allowed these gates
I keep to open,
So I wear one face
One day and cast it aside
For a new one the next
Not because I am afraid,
Not because I am insecure,
But because I want to hide
Myself among the shadows
So I don't kill anyone in turn
Because if I am not mistaken,
It would surely lead to my downfall
If I were to be selfish in such a way,
But I do have a face, one that is mine
And barely and poorly used
But in the end what will it matter
I fade like everyone and like everyone
The rest of the world sooner or later
Fades too
I masquerade while masquerading
in use of the face of another
So I make use of my deceit to do what I
Clearly and so carefully do
Because
I am a fox,
Who masquerades
As a person,
Who masquerades
As another,
Who masquerades
As the people I used
To know,
For in my world of lies
I can't risk turning my back
And allow myself to be
Murdered by a knife
In someone's unseen hands,This is
My
Facade.
