Because I'm always told I'm smart and have potential but I don't put out very well due to procrastination and self doubt.

Today I wish upon a star
In hopes it will succeed
And my dreams do carry me far
I wish I might
I wish I may
Wish upon a star who's life
Is not fleeting with
Heart still eternally beating today
As I anticipate my dismay
Because stars have failed me
Time again and once before,
So don't wish on a star or rather
Something no longer there
Count on yourself
Because though you are smart
Like me you're brighter than
The brightest wish on the most
Brightest dazzling shooting star
And have no need for such beliefs
On such dying stars
Because you can make them a
Reality if you just have the will
To do so,
Because realizing potential
Doesn't require something
That is a promise to the fictional
That is not there
I know this now,
So while you are still young
And oblivious to the worlds inner
Workings around you,
