Today was it,
I patiently waited for so long,
Just to feel this moment,
for her to bathe in its glow,
the essence of freedom from
doubt.
I waited all week,
all day,
to hit the roller rink
on ice skates,
I haven't been in years,
but its special with her.
I fell
I fell
I fell,
but I get up,
she's there for me,
she'll always be.
on car rides I've held her,
always,
I'm never letting go.
Going home after
an Icy derby,
god I loved her!
I held on and I waited,
and waited,
until,
with me she walked and
inside my home we followed to,
I hesitate,
but I know I can,
practice made perfect.
at least I used to believe.
In my room,
I take her and I said,
"marry me in the future"
"all this time I've been thinking and I've said it."
I was so naive. I wasn't joking around,
and then,
right then,
I felt we were free.
I couldn't wait to see her again,
the then keeper of my freedom and secrets,
we had so much more to go,
I wasn't afraid anymore.
that was then.
