And the year ends again

And so the year ends again,
or so it seems,
school is out
people falling out
into the streets,
Friends talking,
kids laughing,
hoping sometime this summer
they'll soon meet,
and I'll see people
every morning rushing
to the pool
cause the heat
has them beat
but come fall
our dreamy vacation
Will be over.
So make a wish
to fall into luck
come September
you won't remember
what you mind has his
from you.

And so it's a dream again,
Days passing by
staying up late,
the nostalgia high,
not a single worry or
care in anyone's mind.
No work.
No school.
No worries, only minor rules.
Letting go of grief and fatigue and
even forgetting the date of each day,
sounds just like me.
It won't matter
cause we all have three months to
ourselves ahead,
so it won't matter when I
decide to get out of bed,
so I can lie there and
let rest my head.
Lines between day and night blurring, with
all the time in the world no hurrying,
no more "Don't forget!"
or "you'll be late!"
all of that, till September, it can wait.

And so its empty again,
No children inside bustling about,
no screaming
or shouting,
cursing,
whining,
or pouting.
So quiet foot steps can be heard
walking on tiles in all empty halls,
sounds echoing off the floors
and walls.
At least staff get a break too!
from noisy students in small classrooms,
but they'll have more
in September
and believe me September
is soon,
but for now,
it's the end of that year,
in the month of June
it's summer, even
half past noon.
