"Hey poppet" I hear my dad say as I pack my bag for dance practice "Hey dad" I huff trying to squeeze everything in "How was school today?" Dad asks taking a seat on the edge of my bed "It was good actually, James was a no show of course" I explain

"Wait does that mean Shelby was on her own all day?" Dad questions "No me and the girls offered for her to come and be with us which she accepted, it was quite nice having another girl around" I explain making him smile "You've always had a king heart Ri" dad proudly says "Are you ready to leave?" Dad continues making me nod my head.

Walking into studio A I was surprised to see James was already there sat by himself on the bench, I glance around and find that Shelby is also here talking to Giselle, Michelle and Thalia. I make my way over to the girls joining in with the conversation.

Miss Kate emerges from her office "Alright listen up!" Miss Kate speaks loudly gaining everyone's attention "There's been another change to one of the routines" Miss Kate starts making all of us extremely confused "Basically the duet that changed from James and Riley to James and Shelby however after the most recent news came to light the duet we now be Shelby and Riley" Miss Kate announces

I'm happy I get to do the duet with Shelby and with the look on her face when Miss Kate was explaining it, I could easily figure out that Shelby was behind this and I'm not even mad about it. Shelby and I now don't have to practice with someone we don't want to be around.

Once the news had been dropped James had got his things together and had left the studio all together without muttering a single word to anybody.

Shelby and I both go straight into figuring out our duet since it's the routine we have nothing for and it's very clear that we work extremely well together so it doesn't take long before we have a routine.

Miss Kate had asked us to show everyone what we had already got at the end of practice and was surprised when Shelby had told her we had our routine already.

Once we finished everyone cheered for us, I embraced Shelby in hug giving her a genuine smile which she happy returned. Dance practice couldn't of ended in a better way.

Heading home I told my dad everything that happened and even he was surprised that Shelby and I was now doing the duet. Absolutely no one saw that outcome happening.

Arriving home I walked upstairs and realised my bedroom door was already open when I know I shut it, slowly walking through the door I notice a familiar blonde sat on my bed making it my own. "Oh hey stranger" I playfully say gaining Emily's attention

"Oh hey, how was dance?" Emily asks "Oh you wouldn't believe what had happened" I sigh dropping my bag down before laying myself next to her. "Me and Shelby are doing the duet now" I say making Emily bolt upright in shock "You need to tell me absolutely everything" she blurts out so that's exactly what I do

It was the most perfect evening, it's rare that I get to spend time with Emily nowadays but it was exactly what we both needed.
