I know I should of told Riley what had happened between me and Jessica but I had genuinely forgotten until Jessica had shown her face at The Next Step.
It happened a month after Riley broke up with me and at my lowest moment in my life but straight after I told her it was a mistake and that it should never of happened

Jessica knew I was still in love with Riley and I had taken the break up really badly
Not that it excuses what I had done..
Jessica meant nothing to me and I think that because I wanted nothing to do with her afterwards she got extremely jealous

I had always turned Jessica down but this particular day I had gotten beaten up quite badly and was reminded that Riley left me
Beth Amanda and Maisie always used that to their advantage to bring me down and today it worked so when Jessica came onto me I just went with it thinking it would make me feel better but it didn't

I know I've got to explain all of this to Riley and I wish I did right at the start but I don't have a time machine. I just hope that Riley will listen to me and let me explain this silly little mistake

I drive to Riley's house and I know Riley will have to answer the door since her dad should be at work and as I pull into the driveway I see that Patrick's car is nowhere to be seen
I knock loudly on the door so Riley can hear the knock where ever she is in the house and behind the glass on the door I see a figure moving and the door opening up to reveal a puffy faced Riley behind

Riley goes to shut the door in my face but I put my arm up to block the door "Please let me explain Riley" I beg
"I know I should of told you I'm so sorry I didn't but please let me explain it to you" I continue to beg
Riley pauses for a second before opening the door further and heading inside up to her bedroom so I follow her

I take a seat at the bottom of her bed before telling her everything
"That same night it happened Beth Amanda and Maisie got into my head about you leaving me and then proceeded to beat me along with other guys so they could cause some damage, after dance practice I toke Jessica home which only happened once and then she tried it on with me and I only went with it because I thought it would make me feel better but straight after I told her that it shouldn't of ever happened and that you're the person I truly want" I explain watching Riley's features soften the more I speak

"What did this happen?" Riley asks "Exactly a month after the break up" I softly say gaining a nod from Riley
"I should of told you at the start but I honestly forgot about her until she finally shown her face at The Next Step last night" I explain causing Riley to chuckle
"You forgot about her?" Riley laughs making me laugh too

"Yeah I honestly did, I was at the lowest point of the breakup and regretted it which caused Jessica to be really shitty and say some harsh comments and from then on I never spoke to her in a civil way" I confess
"I'm sorry for the way I acted, when I heard it I questioned how you actually felt about me but I should of listened to the whole story before reacting" Riley apologises

"No Ri you've got nothing to apologise for In the one in the wrong for not telling you first, I'm really sorry" I say looking down at my hands
"James it's honestly fine we weren't together it just hurt finding out after we got back together" Riley says

I move closer to Riley to give her a gentle kiss on her forehead before pulling her into a hug
"Thank you for listening to me" I whisper
"Always" Riley whispers back
