" AAAAAH!" I turn my attention to the automatic door. And I see my group of friends running towards me. We embraced in a group hug while jumping up and down to say we were excited was an understatement.
After checking in I stopped by McDonald's to get some food for the plane. This would be my first time sitting in first class. I said I was going to treat myself and go all out. You only live once right. So I have no clue if the food is even going to taste good so I'm bringing back-ups. We all boarded the plane swiftly with no complications at least I thought so a very tall buff man sits next to me. Well, there was a short wall dividing us.
He was in a suit and had very loud cologne on, but it smelt good. Hmm he must be flying home he looks like a businessman.
"You know, if you are going to stare at me you might as well ask for a picture." His deep voice and thick accent took me by surprise but it was enough to snap me out of my thoughts.
" I'm sorry I didn't mean to." I tuck my hair behind my ear and look away before he could say anything.
"You're alright, I'm used to it. I was just pulling your leg, after all, I am very handsome so it's bound to happen." Wow cocky much. He smirks while sitting down and pulls out his phone to make a quick call.
I quickly observed and took in everything around me. The trimming of everything was gold plated there was even a TV in here. I think these also convert into beds at least I think so since there's so much leg room everyone takes their seat and the flight attendants come out to do their instructional demonstration.
Soon after the plane takes off 14 hours to go let's hope it passes by fast. I take a quick glance over at my seat neighbor. To my surprise, he was looking at me
"Let me guess you don't like flying?" He questions me
"Not one bit, but since this is my first vacation in years, I wanted to go all out." I give him a cheeky smile while unbuckling my seatbelt.
"It's Aahil." Huh, what is he talking about?
"Excuse me?" He smirks
"My name is Aahil and yours?" I mentally facepalm myself what else would he be saying?
"Oh sorry, I got confused my name is Jamila."
"Hm very pretty name are you Arab?" He raised an eyebrow waiting for me to answer but I'm kinda taken back by that question.
"Nope, as far as I know, I'm just black." I shrug my shoulders and take a burger out of my bag. "Do you want one I have another?" I ask him but he just laughs and shakes his head no
"You're very interesting. I never met someone who brings food with them on a plane that serves food." Well think about it how am I supposed to know what they will be serving? Like yes, first-class gets the good food but is it good? Are people saying that because they are paying for it I'm not bout to starve for the sake of classy food?
"It's not like I can see what they are gonna serve before." I laugh " so I'm not gonna starve the whole 14 hours."
" mmm smart choice." He turns his attention back to his phone and typed away
" I'm guessing you came to Seattle for business?"
"Yes, same with Dubai then I'm going home." He turns his attention back to his phone but eventually pulls out his laptop. I decided it was best for me to probably leave him alone he might just be making conversation to be friendly. I open the drink menu in front of me and press the button for a flight attendant
"Hello ma'am, what can I get for you?"
"Can I have some cranberry juice please?" She smiles and walks back to her station. She quickly comes back and hands me it gently.
The guy next to me asks for water before she leaves
"You should have asked for bottled water." He scoffs
"And why is that?"
"Taste it and you'll see." I smirk at him and continue my search on the TV. In front of me they had a couple of movies on there but nothing I was interested in. This is gonna be one long flight. I let out a sigh and relaxed back in
"You were right, it tastes like shit." He blurts out causing me to let out a laugh a little bit too loud. Oops, I slide down in my chair as the embarrassment sets in
"It's okay, at least you're not a baby crying. People don't like that or obnoxiously loud talking ." I slowly sit back up I'm met with his face showing a nasty grin.
He reaches his hand over the divider waiting for something so what anyone would do I slap his hand as if I was giving him a low five. He furrows his eyebrows I guess that's not what he wanted.
"If I wanted a high five I would ask for one but that's rare. I was asking for the burger you offered me." Psh you could have said that instead of holding your hand out I reach down in my bag and pull out a semi-warm burger and pass it to him.
"You should use your words more people can't read your mind." He smirks as he takes it from me and begins to unwrap it
"Well, where I'm from if they can't figure out what I want before I ask there will be problems." Problems what the hell anyways I put my headphones in trying to pass time with music. I don't know how people do this on a daily
