All I could hear was that annoying beeping sound when the heck did Aahil get an alarm clock? At least it wasn't the chicken this time.

" Aahil p-please turn the alarm off" I tried to pull the covers up but failed, resulting in a groan the AC was blasting in here for no reason. We never kept the room cold.

The screeching of something made my eyes jolt open as I heard cursing footsteps quickly approaching me and I was met with Aahil's tired face. I don't even think that word fits what he actually looked like.

"Subhanallah," he said under his breath as he practically ran out of the room wait where was I? I try to sit up and wince feeling a sharp pain in my back, hearing the beeping again. I looked over to my right there stood a monitor

I'm in the hospital wait that's right the last thing I remember is passing out. I heard the door open and a doctor followed by a couple of nurses came in asking me a whole bunch of questions. I don't know if it's because I was just woken up or if they were speaking fast but I was confused.

"habibti?" I looked to my left when I heard his voice call out to me. As soon as our eyes connected this overwhelming feeling washed over me as if I was being hit with a big wave of emotions. He didn't stay at that distance for long because soon he was reaching over the bed carefully embracing me

"W-what happened, why am I here?" I croaked out tears began to rush out of my eyes. I was now a weeping mes- wait

"My babies! are they okay..." no one said anything. "WHY IS NO ONE SAYING ANYTHING ARE MY BABIES OKAY!"

Before they could respond I felt little kicks letting me know they were still there. I buried my face back in his neck as he whispered things to me in Arabic, and like mine His voice was unstable.

The doctor cleared his throat and began to speak, "I already talked this over with your husband b-"

" What does that have to do with anything? I ask if my babies are okay and you say you talked to my husband about it as if I'm, not the one carrying them. What happened and why am I here?"

The nurses tensed up as I finished scolding the doctor. He too was uncomfortable but I don't care what type of shit is that I'm the one in the bed I'm the one who is pregnant and you're the fucking doctor.

"You were stabbed in the back but your husband stopped the blade from going any further. No stitches were necessary but your back will be sore for a couple of days. But you were poisoned that's why you are hooked up to all these things."

I blink my eyes and stare at him we both were silent. "Mrs. Bashar?"

"huh?"

"Did you hear me?"

" mhm you said I was stabbed"

"Yes, but you were also poisoned" Oh so I heard correctly. Then if I didn't have this IV in my hand I would have dramatically clapped my hands together. What snot-nosed bitch did this to me?

"We were able to revere the effects of what you ingested which were various types of insecticide. The amount suspected was not enough to harm the fetuses but we will double-check once we get an ultrasound machine in here. We also found small traces of mercury in your system as well but once again there wasn't enough where it would harm them."

I nodded my head as he finished his report. They excused themselves from the room after checking my vitals

I felt Aahil reach out and grab my hand and that was when I saw his hand bandaged up. I frowned and turned to him carefully.
