I button up my coat as I exit the plane. Aahil insisted on having bodyguards with me when I went out.
The number of times I refused but I eventually gave in because he said if I don't allow him to do this then he's coming.
So here I am walking off the plane and promptly being greeted by a guy
" I'm sorry that you have to do this." I nervously chuckle and he shakes his head while carrying my luggage.
"No, it's okay. It's an honor really, plus when the news gets out about the engagement without a doubt you'll need some help." I raise an eyebrow and start walking
" I'm guessing Aahil hasn't told you how I can handle my own then." He let out a deep chuckle as he carried the other bags I had with me.
"Yes, sir Bashar has told me how you like to get in trouble." I gasp and let out a huff
" I do not like to get into trouble people just don't know how to leave me alone." I rolled my eyes and walked through the automatic door. He held his hand out in the directions we were supposed to be walking in.
"He also said you would say that." I saw him smirk. I was going to say something but a black car pulled up and he opened the door for me.
I gave him a small thank you and climbed it. Soon as I got into the car I heard my phone ring.
"Hello?" I answered while undoing my jacket knowing it's gonna take a while to get back home.
"Nice to see your phone works you know how many times I called you these past couple of months?" I pull back my phone to see who it was
" Lykos did you forget I was taking PTO?" I heard papers go flying on the other line and yelling in the background "what the hell is going on?"
" Oh, would you like to know the office is crazy right now? People are running around like their damn heads got chopped off." I buckled my seatbelt and the car began to take off.
"Okay well, you are still not explaining." I let out a sigh and the bodyguard looked back concerned. I shook my head and he promptly turned around
"There's a fucking exhibit that needs to be set up and you're not here!"
" What does that have to do with me? When I left nothing was planned?" People were curing in the background and I heard footsteps and a door slam.
"Okay well, I need you to come in please Jamila I'm begging you."
"Why me, I just got back what about Sandra?"
"Fuck Sandra, she's the damn reason we are in this mess." I let out and sigh and tapped the guy's shoulder.
" Can you take me to Baypath st I have to go into the office?" He nodded his head and told the driver.
"Okay, I'll be there in an hour try not to set the building on fire."
"Okay, I'll tell Nick to put the blow torch away." I let out a light chuckle and said my goodbyes.
I rub my stomach lightly and let out a sigh
" I leave for a couple of months and the office basically blows up."
-
I button up my coat once again and grab the food I picked up on the way here.
I finally learned his name. It's Emir he trailed behind me as we entered the building.
" hm, nice interior." His voice echoed as we walked to the elevator.
