I looked up at Aahil only to see him looking down at me. I smirked and quickly looked away.
"No need to be embarrassed I know I'm very handsome and hard to resist." I scoffed and playfully slapped his leg, he laughed, leaning down to kiss my cheek.
Everyone already left to go to the reception venue but we had to stay back to get our wedding photos taken. And finally, after an hour we were in the car heading there.
" This whole thing just seems surreal." I looked at him, "I'm actually married I never thought that would actually happen."
" I'm with you on that one everything that has happened just feels like a dream. But if it is I never want to wake up." He smirked making me chuckle
I took his hand and rubbed my thumb in the center of his palm.
Even when I'm not worried I find comfort in touching him.
"Your coronation will be next month."
" Hm?" I say looking up at him it's not that I wasn't paying attention, I was too busy playing with his hand.
"Your coronation is next month meaning next month you'll be crowned queen."
"Gosh, I totally forgot about that" he shook his head in disbelief but not in a judgment sense.
"What I'm serious, no joke, I really forget you're a king."
"Habibti, how is that possible?" He smirked
" I don't know it's not something that's constantly on my mind it's only when I see you in your traditional or royal attire." I shrugged my shoulders, making him scoff
" Literally we live in a palace."
I shook my head, "No, see if we were in the states then it wouldn't slip my mind, but here Aahil these houses are big!"
"They aren't-"
" Now don't start lying just to prove your incorrect point." We both started laughing again
"How does the coronation work?"
He hummed and patted my hand.
" I'll tell you later there's a lot to it and today we should be having fun." He leaned over and kissed my forehead.

Soon as we arrived at the venue his family and friends pulled us onto the dance floor not giving us a second to sit down or thank everyone.
His sisters showed me some dance moves but eventually, I evacuated the floor to get much-needed snacks. I felt a hand snake around my waist causing me to look back only to see Aahil smiling.
"How did you get away so fast?" I chuckled and bit into one of the sweet snacks I picked. Do I know what it is nope but it sure tasted good.
" It's a skill that takes years to master." I held some up to his face knowing he would ask for it.
" mm, it almost tastes as good as the way my grandmother used to make it."
"What is it? I just picked up whatever."
He chuckled softly and agreed to give me the rundown.
"OK, that in your hand is sahlab, that's Kahk I pulled some strings for this because traditionally it's served at Eid but it tastes too good for me not to have it at one of my most important events."
" Eid I thought-"
"I'm not, but most of my mom's family is and before Rahla was born they would all come over for religious events and gatherings. I always stood by and watched but I was always there either in the kitchen trying to help which ended in a mess or eating." I shook my head at the thought of younger him making a mess.
