The doors opened before us and thankfully everyone was too busy either dancing or talking with others to be concerned with who just entered the room. He brings us to a table with two people sitting there. I recognize one that being his sister I met earlier but wait, maybe that's her husband?
" Ah! You look beautiful!" She says while getting out of her chair to greet me. She doesn't hold back this time and brings me into a hug.
"Here here, let me introduce you to Sahdik." She grabs my hand and brings me over to her side of the table.
He was completely in his thoughts when seeing how she has to give him a hard tap. He shakes my hand and smiles at me not saying much. Which I don't mind.
"So seeing as how you are still here I'm guessing you said yes and he told you?" She said eagerly.
" Yeah, I'm still stunned seeing as he doesn't give off that feeling of being a royal." She snorts and I could tell Aahil was only rolling his eyes at her response.
" Yeah, that's his true side so you are very lucky. Just wait." She takes a sip of her water and looks at me again.
" Just wait till you meet my younger brothers. You would think they are typical boys with the way they act."
Aahil clears his throat and I look over at him to see what is wrong. People normally do that when they either have to say something or break the tension or they have phlegm stuck in the back of their throat.
"That won't happen any time soon. At least until she's ready she only just said yes to dating me and I would like to take things slow and enjoy what we have." He looks into my eyes wanting to go in for another kiss but he resists the urge
"Well, she already met me so what's the difference?" He rolls his eyes and scoffs
" The difference is that you barged into my house to be nosy." Her husband chuckles deeply only for her to shrug
"That is what a big sister is for."
"Big sister, my ass," he says lowly but she still heard him. I'm pretty sure if we were not in a public setting they would be arguing louder.
But she lets it go and rolls her eyes.
" anyways when you do meet everyone, especially my younger sister you'll love her. I can't say the same for my brother though." I raise an eyebrow confused by her words. I thought he said he was close with everyone
"Well, Aahil, Rahla, and I are from our dad's first marriage when he remarried. He had two more kids now. His new wife is nice and all but her teachings are just all sorts of backwards." She shakes her head allay as if she's recalling moments with her stepmom
"So let's just say her teachings rub off on her kids here and there. And she hates it whenever we try to correct it." Aahil shakes his head annoyed with the conversation. He looks over at me. His lips parted as if he was going to say something. A man places their hands on his shoulder
" han alwaqt ya waladay."( It is time my son)
I didn't fully understand what the man said. I only caught the last part 'son', so this must be his dad. He looks down at me and gives me a warm smile. I smile back and Aahil taps my hand.
My attention is brought to him and I'm met with his warm eyes
"Stay here, I have to go meet with some of the elders then Make the announcement." He leans into my face. I thought he was going in for a kiss on the lips but he just kissed the side of my cheek and got up
___
An hour passed by and he still wasn't back yet. I wasn't worried but at the same time, I was.
