Lights from the camera were flashing as we departed the car. He held my hand tight smiling as we passed by. It's a good thing I don't have epilepsy. I wonder if reporters think about that?
We entered the big hall after a short walk. It was decorated beautifully some people were mingling while others danced.
"The first hard part is over." His hand snaked around my waist comforting me.
" I don't have to make a speech right?" We continued walking to our table passing by the guest
" maybe something sma-"
I cut him off " Aahil I swear." He laughed and pulled out my chair.
" I'm just joking habibti you don't have to say anything. You just go up there with me maybe wave then we sit down and enjoy the rest of the party." He rubbed my back and kissed my cheek.
"Stop, you're gonna get makeup on your face come here." He giggled while wiping off my highlighter that was now on the top of his nose.
"You guys are finally here now. Can you spill what the hell this is all about?" Rahla said while sipping on her wine
"Why are you so impatient?" Anisa added
" I'm not but it doesn't make sense why we are throwing a party and I don't even know what it's about mom, do you?" Zuma looked over and shook her head.
"See, not even mom knows and she's nosy."
"Well, then I did a good job. Now stop being impatient and wait like everyone else dear sister."
They continued to go back and forth bickering as usually I look around noticing his other family members were not here. I tap his lap and he looks at me with his eyebrows raised
"Where's the rest of your family?" He scoffed and placed his hand on my lap then looked over at me.
" Navi said she didn't want to go so they didn't come. She's the type where if she doesn't want to do something she expects people to follow." He sipped on the glass of water and then turned his head towards me.
"Very annoying, if you ask me then she raises hell when people defy her." He rolled his eyes and placed the glass down
"Yeah, that would get old very quickly." I placed my beans on his just to distract myself from the crowd I soon had to face even though I didn't have to say anything or say very little
This moment while yes very special was being publicized. I remember the conversation I had with Aahil a couple of days ago where he talked about how a lot of things will be changing.
I couldn't help but think how my life would change. Despite the fact that I'm literally staying in a palace while I'm here it still slips my mind that I'm dating well now actually engaged to a king.....
Before I even registered what was going on I felt a little tap on the back of my hand. I looked to my right seeing how it was my right hand.
Aahil was smiling at me then I realized it was time to make the announcement. I let out a nervous sigh but carefully stood up. I may not be clumsy but it's always important moments like this where I seemed to have the worst of luck.
Outside of these moments I always stood strong and never lowered my head but moments like this make me extremely nervous.
Everyone was still talking dancing on the dance floor but Aahil and I walked up to the stage so that everyone could see even those in the far back.
I held his hand tightly hoping that I didn't slip away from how sweaty my hands were.
He gestured towards the band playing music and they soon stopped there. performance
