Hi Habibti, it feels like I haven't heard your voice in a year. Although it's been a month or so I hope the little ones aren't causing you too much trouble. I really wish I was able to call you or at least read your letters but it's not safe. But I'll get to the point I can already tell you're getting impatient yes I'm eating well. I'm afraid my men are getting tired of me talking about you so much but I can't help it......
I continued to read his letter and chuckled at the funny parts. I too wish I could send him letters that would at least make this distance bearable. I gripped onto the side of the chair and used it to get up not without a groan leaving my lips. I place the letter on the table next to me.
Some of his aunts were coming over for their weekly catch up and I rather enjoyed sitting in on the conversations. Despite the council acting like fucking idiots aside from a couple of people things have seemed to lighten up after the dead weight of the family left.
I picked up the tray of various desserts and walked to the common area.
"Asssh sweetie, you shouldn't be carrying this yahlla give it here!" The older woman huffed out.
I knew there was no fighting with her last time I did that I got yelled at for being stubborn. I smirked and forfeited the tray.
"You know it's not even that heavy."
"AASH! I don't want to hear it." She scolded as we entered the room of women talking. I chuckled and rubbed my lower back
"No no no that man was stupid for divorcing his wife because look now he ran off with some young girl and she took all his money!" Damn, as much as I hate to admit it these women were kind of my source of 'entertainment'. If it wasn't stories from the past it was gossip.
" serves him right! Fatima was a good woman! All he did was think with his ayr' " Zuma shook her head as if she was done with the woman speaking then she looked up at me. I gave her a bright smile while she got up from her seat.
" How are you my daughter?" she asked while giving my shoulder a rub.
" better, now that I'm here just a while ago I was finishing up the letter Aahil sent." She smiled and I slipped my slippers off. They weren't restricting or anything but having anything on my feet bothered me. I gripped the side of the chair and groaned while trying to sit down. The much older woman next to me let out a small chuckle while picking up the cup of coffee.
"Mmm, I remember those days... how far along?" she asked while looking over at me. I smiled and rested my hands on top of my belly.
" 32 weeks now and they just don't seem to stop growing! I don't think there's any space left!" I chuckled and the older woman smiled at me.
" I'm praying for you Aahil was a big baby a chunky one too!" Zuma's sister added. I groaned out and shook my head.
"Don't remind me! The last appointment I had they were once again estimated to be chunky!"
"At least they are getting fed a big baby is better than a malnourished one." Another woman added.
"That might be but I'm the one pushing them out! Twins are not normally supposed to be big so just my luck huh." I playfully scoffed
Zuma walked over and handed me a cup of tea since I couldn't drink the coffee that was prepared. Gosh, what I would do for a cup right now it's not like I was an addict pre-pregnancy but when you haven't had something for months because you can't you only want it more.
The older woman continued to gossip about the man who left his wife and is now being fucked over by the woman he left her for. If I was thinking I should have brought my knitting supplies.
