"Okay, but I don't understand why the damn bitch would do it in the first place!" Amber emphasized while throwing her hand up in the air
I couldn't help but laugh at the way she expressed her anger. One thing about her if she's mad or pissed she will let you know!
Here we are walking out of a coffee shop after someone decided to stick their finger in her food thinking it was theirs.
" you find this funny?" She says while starting to crack up
"Yes, I do. It's not the situation it's the fact that she had that face while picking it up." She shakes her head
We cross the street as the autumn leaves crunch below our heels. I retighten my trench coat and I hear her gasp suddenly.
I look over at her wondering what the hell happened and she starts slapping my shoulder.
" GIRL!" She whispers and yells while having her eyes in a completely different direction.
"What why the hell are you slapping me?" She looks at me with her eyes widening as if she's seen a ghost.
"Bitch, we gotta go! Do you not see that dude overt-" she stops and tenses up as a guy approaches us.
" Hello, Amber what a coincidence." She slowly turns her head and stands up straight.
"Hi, Gabriel." She slowly tucks her hair behind her ear.
My eyes slowly peer up to see who this guy was that made my friend's voice jump an octave.
Holy shit this guy is tall. Now, where the hell did she meet him?
I lean into her ear getting ready to question her but she slaps my thigh.
"And who is this beautiful woman beside you?" He tilts his head to the side and looks at me but quickly moves his eyes back to Amber.
"Oh, this is my friend Jamila." She lets out a chuckle. Well, would you look at that? Never in my years would I think a man would-
" Mila I hate to cut this short. Is it okay?" She moves her eyes to the guy named Gabriel and I give her a smile
"Yes go, it's okay to text me when you get home okay." I wink at her and she playfully glares at me. I give her a hug and let them enjoy their time. Now what I want to know is why she didn't tell me she was seeing someone?
Well, there's no point going home now. It's still light out and it feels nice and crisp outside.
I walk over to one of the benches nearby. It's not really a park but they have things for kids to play on some picnic tab- never mind this is a park.
I close my eyes for a brief moment and take a deep breath.
I let out a scoff and shake my head days like this makes me wish I was back with the ones I call mom.
Ha, it reminds me of that one time I got locked out of the house on Halloween night. I went to the only place I knew would welcome me and had one of the best nights of my life.
Everyone was dressed up in what some would call 'slutty Halloween costumes'
Ms. Charlotte and the others that would perform with her pulled me up on stage and we sang the whole night. If the dance floor wasn't packed we would have been dancing our shoes off.
I was wearing all black that day which isn't really convenient for a child going out at night. I felt left out with everyone in costumes. But as the night went on one of Ms. Charlotte's guy friends gave me their fairy wings.
Gosh, they were beautiful but too big for me.
I hear wailing and someone talking in a frustrated tone.
I look over to my left trying to follow where the sound is coming from and it's a woman looking visibly distressed. A toddler practically trying to throw themselves on the ground while she's trying to tend to the baby crying in the stroller.
She stops for a moment and the little boy starts pulling stuff out of the stroller. I can't help but sympathize with her as she starts crying.
I walk over to her feeling the need to help her seeing as how numerous bottles have drifted my way.
I pick them up and the caps that fell off and walk over to her.
"Here you go." I give her a slight smile she gives me a smile thank you as the little boy looks up at me.
I bend down slowly and meet his level.
"Hi, bud, I know you might be upset you can't go on the slide over there." He looks over past my shoulder and furrows his eyebrows
"But that doesn't mean it's okay to be mean to your mom. Would you like it if she threw all your toys everywhere to get muddy?" He shakes his head as his face slowly turns into sadness.
" I know it wouldn't be nice right? So maybe instead of throwing, we can dance out our frustrations." His mom lowly chuckles seeing us interact
"Come on, let's try?" Before I even at a second to stand up he starts jumping up and down and wiggling his body. I join him shortly after not wanting him to feel alone but to feel comfortable expressing an emotion in a way that won't harm others.
"See it helps, right?" I say while doing back down to eye level. He smiles and unexpectedly gives me a hug. I pat his back and bring my attention to his mom.
" I don't know what type of magic you just did but thank you." I could tell she really meant it and if she wasn't holding her baby I would have offered her a hug.
"No, it's okay. It's not easy handling kids by yourself when you are out and about."
We say our goodbyes and part ways a strong wind blows against my feet causing me to look up at the sky.
Suns setting I should probably head back now and judging by those clouds it's gonna be another rainy night.
I feel my phone vibrate like crazy in my pocket. Either someone is blowing up the group chat, my boss is spamming me, or my card was stolen.
Surprisingly it was none but Instagram notifications from the post that I recently uploaded.

"Okay, so what are we doing for Friendsgiving?" Anna asks while on the other line.
I was busy pouring myself a bowl of cereal and trying to find my laptop that always seems to go missing.
"Yeah.... Who's place are we doing this at?" Georgina says while she does her makeup. She was going out with her other friends to some event at a club.
" I mean we can do it at mine but y'all know my kitchen is small so cooking before would be wise." I place a spoonful of fruit loops in my mouth.
Amber was still with her boo thang so she told us to fill her in later.
" I'm fine with that," Anna says as Georgina hums in agreement.
"So Mila how are you and Aahil?" Georgina asks while looking at the screen.
I shake my head and smirk at her
"Y'all are nosy." They both chuckle but still wait for me to answer.
" We are doing well he's coming to visit next month."
"Wait, so are we gonna get to meet him properly then?" Anna asks while raising an eyebrow
"What do you mean? Y'all met him that one time?"
"First of all, we all know that was not a proper introduction. He was too busy admiring you," Georgina says she does have a point.
"Well, that's up to him if he wants to attend, if so, then yes." I fill my mouth with another spoonful as the girls chat away about how they are excited to meet him. I chime in here and there as the conversation switches to catching up about our daily lives
Normally we would all go out for Halloween or plan something but this year I decided to not participate. I just wanted to spend my night inside watching horror movies trying not to jump at every singer creek in my apartment.
We sighed off for the night and I put my bowl In the sink
Tomorrow was Monday which meant back to work I go.
