" madha tafeal ya binay?" ( what are you doing up my son?)

I heard Aahil coo softly. It was early in the morning not even the sun had come up yet but this was our routine.

We would take shifts but both of us would end up staying up in the end. I covered my mouth as I yawned looking down at the breast pump attached to me while Kalila nursed on the other.

I pretty much have lost track of time completely other than when the twins need to be fed.

"Here," I said through the yawn that interrupted me. I detached the breast pump and carefully handed him the bottle.

" fresh from the tap." He groaned making me chuckle. Even with my tired eyes, I was cracking jokes.

"Habibti, stop it." He said while screwing the top on fast knowing that our son would soon start fussing for his milk. "Why it's true."

"Gah. It's not true. Last time I checked I married a human, not a cow." This was my favorite joke to crack

"Well, you might have to go get a refund or talk to the wicked witch because I sir have turned into a cow. This is all I do. I close my eyes, then boom before I know it I have a milking machine attached to my boob." He smirked and shook his head.

" Nasim , hal tasmae walidatak 'aetaqid 'anah bisabab qilat alnawm alati tahsul ealayha." ( Nasim, do you hear your mom? I think it's because of the lack of sleep she gets.) He said while looking down at our son who had his eyes closed sucking away at the milk.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes. I gently picked Kalila up cupping my hand under her head and placed her on my lap sitting up. I rubbed circles in her back in an upwards motion in hopes she would burp soon.

"What time did we have to be at the palace again?" I asked while resorting to patting her back.

" ten and then the interviewer is right after." It's only been a week but it was time to announce the arrival of the twins. Normally it's done a day after but Aahil refused to have cameras pushed into our faces.

At least I'm getting the option to announce the arrival unlike everything else that got spoiled. "Then after I have to attend a meeting...if they aren't sleeping by then I will take whoever is up with me."

I let out a sigh of relief hearing her burp. "You don't have to do that I don't want you to be distracted," I said while placing Kalila on my chest trying to soothe her back to sleep.

"I want to, plus it gives me an excuse to end early." I looked over and chuckled. "No, I'm just kidding but leaving you with both would be too much. And I know you said you didn't want a nan-"

" I don't want one I am their mother. This is my job... I'm not working so there's no need. Plus I don't feel comfortable having a stranger in my home. The last thing I need is for anything to happen."

I'm all for mothers getting the help they need. Raising kids is not easy but I can't do it. I know danger can come to you even from your closest family members, but I'd rather just not test the waters right now.

It was extremely helpful when Zuma stayed but that was only for a couple of days. She was supposed to stay for a month and she said she would stay longer if I needed her to, but then something happened with Anisa and she didn't feel right leaving everyone alone back at the palace since things started to get hectic over there.

So I told her it was okay and that she could go, her kids might be adults but she was still their mother and I felt bad for asking her to stay when her focus was on something else. Plus, I got this! I have Aahil when he's here which is most of the time excluding when he needs to leave for work.
