Chapter 40

"My love, you don't have to be nervous they are a nice group of men." He told me but I was still sweating like I just finished a damn marathon.

"How can I not be nervous?" He chuckles while grabbing for my hand as we walk up the stairs to the second floor.

" Well, you met my mother for one." I playfully roll my eyes he knows that doesn't count, and yes, a parent's approval is important. I still don't want to make a bad impression.

But I guess if I do it's not the end of the world.

We finally made it to the reserved table that had all sorts of alcoholic beverages, hookah being used by some guys it was nice. Nicer than any of the clubs I've been to.

"dakhal almalik almabnaa!" ( the king has entered the building!)

Someone cheers as we make our way closer to the group

Aahil playfully shoos them away. They all come up giving him a hug and saying hello to me after.

"Habibti, these are my friends I was telling you about." He smiles at me he even had that cute dimple of his making an appearance.

" This is Omar he's the youngest. That's Kareem on the right. We grew up together older by one year, and finally, Ali, the same age, met during college." I wave to all of them and take my seat. There were some other guys with us but they look too drunk to even hold a conversation.

Aahil pulls me closer to him if we weren't in public I'm sure I would be sitting on his lap. They all caught up with each other to see how everyone was doing since the last time they hung out was a couple of months ago.

Aahil was busy managing two roles at once

Ali was in the country over and his wife what was her name? I think it was Farrah who gave birth three months ago.

Kareem was in the process of taking over his father's company

"Okay, so you said your baby was born but where are the pictures?" Kareem asked while picking up his glass.

"Yeah, how are you going to just announce that but not show any pictures?" Omar says while rolling his eyes

" Will you guys shut up?" he chuckled and pulled his phone out " here"

I can't help but be nosy and glance over at his screen. Eventually, the phone gets passed to Aahil and I was able to get a better look.

" Congratulations! I'm still shocked she had the baby but he looks very handsome." A smile was plastered on his face you couldn't tell he was genuinely happy for his friend.

" I was shocked myself he wasn't supposed to come till the end of December!"

"You know, I'm really happy for you guys settling down but shit the thought of kids scares me," Omar says while exhaling the hookah.

All the men laugh at his statement. It's nice seeing Aahil with his friends and it's also nice to know he doesn't switch up his personality once he's around different people.

Call me whatever you want but I hate when people do that. I can understand if it's a little bit but there's no reason for you to be Gomez Addams when around people then turn into Ike turners.

"Of course, you would say that you probably would scream if you found out one of your side pieces got pregnant," Kareem adds.

"Fuck yeah, I'm still young. Am I not supposed to enjoy life? What's the purpose of there being fish in the sea if I can't taste them all?" I can't help but chuckle to myself he reminds me of Amber, before she got into a relationship they would have made good friends.
