Tim’s POV
I need to be sure again, I need to find it. Nagpatuloy ako sa pagbuklat ng mga libro. Sa pagkakaalala ko nandito lang ang librong yun… pero bakit wala? Did I misplace it?
“I’m sleepy…” napatingin ako sa may sahig at humahakay na naman si Jewel. Nakaupo na siya sa sahig at kalat-kalat na ang mga libro sa paligid niya.
“…Are you sure na nandito ang hinahanap mo Tim?...” tanong pa niya.
“I’m sure of it.”
“Baka naman nasa library, gusto mo bang pumunta ako dun?”
I just shakes my head. “Nooo,” it’s impossible na mapunta dun ang libro ko.
“You can sleep now Jewel, thank you sa pagtulong sa akin dito,” saad ko at muling nagbasa ng libro. It must be here…
“Sigurado ka?” he sounds really sleepy.
“Hmm. Tutal halos nabuklat mo na lahat ng libro dito, you can go now,” I look at him. Tila ba nagdadalawang isip pa siya na iwan ako dito.
“Malalim na ang gabi, I know your tired,” dugtong ko pa kaya tumayo na siya. He lazily bowed at me as a sign of respect.
“Okay. Good night Tim,” he walk out quietly at naiwan na akong mag-isa.
It took me another couple of minutes hanggang sa mag-give up na ako sa pagbabasa. Napatingan ako sa mataas na ceiling ng aking office. Bakit hindi ko yun mahanap? Is it because it's been so long since I've red that book? I almost forgotten it.
It feels like, it disappeared all of a sudden now that I remembered it. Nakakapagtaka.
Bumuntong hininga ako sabay tayo. I look at the glass window from my office at pinagmasdan ang buong main base namin. Napakatahimik. Everything here is beautiful and perfect. I know that this is the sanctuary for all of them.
I sigh again until my eyes landed at the big portal na nasa itaas nitong base. It’s really beautiful. But all of this… will be gone soon.
I decided na maglakad-lakad sa base hanggang sa mapatapat ako sa pinakang portal. As I look up, It’s just a normal structure of circle with the use of metals and other elements… but this little thing up here… brought all of them here, into the Unknown.
Even him… this portal brought him here. If I can’t find what I’m looking for inside the book, should I go to him and ask?
I put my hands inside my pocket as I headed at the main entrance. I immediately felt the cold breeze as I went outside of the main base. Hindi pa man ako tuluyang nakakalabas nang may tumawag sa akin na siyang ikinatigil ko.
“Tim???” I slowly look at my back at dali-daling lumapit si Jewel sa kinatatayuan ko. He look so surprise to see me.
“It’s really you… A-anong ginagawa mo dito?”
Ahhh right. He never saw me outside the base… I mean, all of them knows that I do not leave the main base. Some of them even thought that I’m not allowed to, that’s why he’s surprised to see me here.
“How about you?” balik kong tanong sabay napakapit siya sa kanyang batok.
“Ah e… hindi ako makatulog nang iwan kita. It doesn’t feel right to leave you while you’re working,” Hmmm. I slightly smiled at him.
“Do you want to accompany me?”
“P-pupunta ka ba sa library? If you need anything ako na lang ang kukuha,” he presented like he always do. After all, he is my loyal right hand man.
