Chapter 32: The Student's Council

V’s POV

I carefully tap my fingers along with the ticking of the clock every seconds, until I saw her running towards us, inside the Quadrangle, where the Circle Stone is, the Circle of Truth.

The very own chair and the marble like table is made of magic, in this table, all of us cannot lie. That’s why Chan and I decided to gather an emergency meeting here.

I look at the empty seat sa may kanan ko at hindi ko maiwasang hindi masaktan, that seat, belongs to our former council, the Mind Reader, he is one of our four Peace Officers. He died during the Flame Guy accident a long time ago. Kung nandito lang sana siya…

“There she is,” saad ni Faye at nakita ko si Erin na tumatakbo papalapit sa amin.

I’m sure pinauna lang siya dito ni Chan, that guy is really running late.

Si Faye naman is our secretary, or more like our historian. Siya ang nagtatala at gumagawa ng kwento sa buhay ng bawat isa dito. She easily learns everything she read at hindi niya yun nalilimutan. She has this short red hair na talaga namang ang sakit sa mata kapag tinatamaan ng araw.

“I’m sorry I’m late,” humihingal na saad ni Erin, I just gesture to the empty seat beside me at na-gets naman niya ang kilos ko.

Nang lumapat ang pang-upo ni Erin sa bangko ay biglang nagbago ang expression niya.

'So she’s really nervous.'

Tila ba naguguluhan siya sa kanyang nararamdaman ngayon, she’s trying her best not to be obvious about it pero kitang-kita ko pagpapawis at panginginig ng kamay niya.

“Calm down,” saad ni Carter kay Erin. He noticed it too sabay ngiti. “There’s no need to be nervous about.”

“I…I…I’m not n-nervous,” utal-utal na sagot ni Erin at napakagat labi pa siya. Napatawa na lang si Carter as he stare at her.

“This circle…” he tapped the table, “It’s magical, kung sino man ang umupo dito, they will show their true self, what they thinks and what they feel. We cannot lie in here,” paliwanag niya.

Tila ba na-realize ni Erin kung bakit bigla siyang kinabahan, it just mean that is her true feelings about this. Well, hindi ko naman siya masisisi since this is her first day na makasama kaming lahat.

Maya-maya pa ay napansin namin si Chan mula sa malayo kaya sabay-sabay kaming napatayo, medyo nahuli pa nga si Erin. Tapos nag-bow kami nang makalapit siya.

“I’m sorry I’m late,” saad ni Chan at umupo na sa may tapat ko. Umupo na rin kami pagkatapos niya. In this big circle, kami talaga ang magkatapat, at sa kaliwa’t kanan namin ay tig-tatlo na members.

At my right, si Erin, right now she’s filling for Peace Officer.

Sa kaliwa ko naman ay si Matias, another P.O. katulad siya ni Mon, may Super Strength din siya.

Then there are two another P.O sa left and right ni Chan, sina Asher, the one who can make anyone sleep at si Brielle, the one who can change form and copy anyone she likes.

Ang nasa gitna naman ng mga P.O na magkatapatan ay sina Faye, the Smart One at si Carter na kumausap kanina kay Erin, he can communicate to anyone using his mind, kahit na malayo.

“As you all know, we already found someone na kukumpleto sa atin, she will also be fullfilling the role of Peace Officer, she’s Erin Faith Ortiz, the Land Controller. We all know that she's new here, but I hope na makasundo niyo siya,” medyo kumalma na si Erin nang maipakilala na siya ni Chan.

Pumalakpak naman kami as a welcome to the new member at nginitian siya, except kay Brielle, if there’s another B*tch here other than me, that’s her. Siya ang pinakang strikto sa aming lahat, and she’s very sensitive about hierarchy.
