Bernard still had nightmares about that day. Alfina did her best to calm him down, even after their children grew up. Eventually, Eve left the Pole, but Jingle decided to stay for a few more years. After the babies were born, Bernard proposed to Alfina and had the wedding two months later. Buddy Claus loved his cousins, but since Eve left, it felt strange without her around.

"Bernard," Alfina walked up to her husband in the workshop and wrapped her arms around his neck. The head elf glanced at his beautiful wife, "Hey, Snowflake," He acknowledged, "What's wrong?"

"I wanted to see my handsome husband. Have you heard from Eve at all?"

"I have not; she's probably enjoying life in Madison, Delaware." Bernard grabbed his wife's hips and rested his forehead against hers, "You're probably right. If she meets someone, will you be nice to them?" Alfina asked with a mischievous grin.

"That depends on how well he treats our daughter." The elf growled. Alfina smacked his shoulder playfully, "Oh, Bernard! Stop! Our children are twenty years old. They can handle themselves. You know Eve trained herself for any harassment and took self-defense classes."

"I know... I wish she stayed a little longer."

Curtis walked up behind Bernard and tapped his shoulder, "Hey, big brother?" The head elf turns to Curtis, "Yes, Curtis?" The younger elf handed Bernard a note and took an interest in the floor. Bernard and Alfina glanced at the letter and skimmed through it.

"Well, B. Want to meet this Sam Stine fellow?" Alfina asked.

"Will he accept the fact Eve is a part elf?" Bernard questioned, peering at his wife.

"Only one way to find out."
