Jackie Chapter 39

Shopping with Selena was the best thing in the world. We walked into stores I wouldn't think twice about before I had met her. It was overwhelming and the prices of the clothes almost made me pass out. Selena went around the stores picking up clothes and having employees put them in dressing rooms for us and I just kind of stood there in a daze.

"Jackie you look like a kid lost at the grocery store have you never been shopping before?" She asked with her eyebrows raised.

"Um, no, it's just I've never seen so many clothes for one person before." I replied sheepishly.

"Don't worry I'll teach you the rights and wrongs of fashion today." She said and pulled me into a dressing room. She shoved clothes at me and I decided to try everything on one by one. After every outfit we tried Selena and I would strut around the dressing room and double over in laughter at the ridiculous outfits. After hours of roaming huge stores with bigger price tags, we decided to head home. While the sales rep was checking out our clothes Selena got a call and told me it was Caitlin. She came back a few minutes later and I asked her what Caitlin had to say.

"What's up with Caitlin? Why didn't she come with us today?" I asked.

"Caitlin's been acting a bit weird lately but I think it's just because you're dating Justin and her relationship with him was pretty weird." She said shaking her head. I shrugged and looked at the cash register as the lady rung up our clothes.

"She said she's gonna meet us in the food court." Selena said.

"Are you okay?" Selena asked looking at me.

"Yeah fine it's just this number is almost as long as my old zip code." I said. Selena laughed and handed lady her credit card.

"Hey, I expect you to take me shopping next time." Selena said handing me a bag of clothes. I laughed and promised. As we were leaving I got a text from Justin saying we needed to talk.

"That never means anything good. I wonder what's wrong?" I said aloud. I showed Selena the text and she shrugged.

"It's probably something stupid don't worry about it." She said. I responded telling him we'd talk later and put away my phone. I decided to try and ignore the text but it kept nagging at me. We made our way to the food court and saw Caitlin waiting for us inside. She waved at us and we walked over.

"Hey Caitlin what's up?" I asked.

"Nothing much. You should ask your boyfriend that question." She said smirking.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Oh never mind. It was just a joke! Lighten up Jackie!" Caitlin said. I gave Selena a confused look and she gave me an apologetic grin. What was happening?

"You guys went shopping already?" Caitlin asked pouting.

"Hey, you can never have enough clothes. Let's go!" Selena said liking her arms with me and Caitlin. I felt uncomfortable but went along with it as we walked into yet another huge store. As we were walking in I felt the flashes of cameras behind us and tensed up.

"Don't worry it's just the paparazzi it's not like they can do anything to us." Caitlin said. I smiled and straightened up my back and walked in the store more confidently. If they were gonna take pictures they might as well be good ones.
