Star
Klaus, Elijah and I all sat at the table eating breakfast in the dinning room. Klaus is drinking orange juice with champagne and looking pleased with himself. Elijah, however, does not seem amused while I just sit and smile. "Is something the matter, brother? Can I fix you a drink, perhaps" Klaus asked and sips his own drink with a smirk, and Elijah just rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Strangely enough, Klaus, I'm not in a mimosa mood" Elijah said with a sigh.
"Fantastic, more for us" Klaus said with a smile. "You know what I would love to know" Elijah said and turned in his chair to look at Klaus and I. "You killed Mikael, yet Star is still here, how is that" Elijah asked? Klaus' smile vanished as he glared at Elijah "Elijah's right" I said and looked at Klaus confused "how am I still alive. I mean when Mikael died I should have died with him" I said to Klaus. Klaus picked up his drink "I may have talk to a certain witch cast a spell on you" Klaus said.
"You mean Davina" I said "yes, I knew that my father would betray me one way or another so I made sure that when it did come time for him to die, you wouldn't" he said and took a drink. "So, Davina made it where when Mikael died, I wouldn't" I asked and Klaus nodded. "Let's discuss strategy, shall we, Niklaus? Just wondering if you actually have one. We can begin with Mikael's ashes, given that they are the main ingredient in our weapon against Dahlia, would you care to tell me where they disappeared to" Elijah asked, changing the subject.
Klaus sets down his drink, looking annoyed and put-out but puts on a fake smile "Elijah! I have compelled the city's finest pastry chef for your own personal edification, and yet, you ignore my efforts in favor of needless concerns" Klaus said. Rebekah enters the room, looking tired and hungover "can we stop talking so loudly" she says and sees the pot of coffee and sighs in relief. "Give me that" she says and Rebekah walks over to pour herself a glass. "What's the matter, new witch body not up to last night's bender" Klaus asked amused.
Rebekah rolls her eyes "so, I had a few". She sits down at the opposite end of the table from Klaus. "It's not every day you lose your father at the hands of your brother and your new sister" Rebekah says and looks at Klaus and I. Klaus laughs "whoever said opportunity only knocks once, eh" Klaus said. Elijah and Rebekah stare at him blankly and silently, and Klaus scoffs.
"Oh, come on, we all fled Mikael's tyranny together for centuries! I would have thought the mood this morning might be a bit more jubilant" Klaus said with a smile. "I agree, I don't know about any of you but I for one am very happy" I said looking at my drink and taking a sip. "Under normal circumstances, the annihilation of our father would be rather commendable. Unfortunately, we have a greater threat to contend with" Elijah said.
Klaus hops to his feet to pour himself another drink "you know, for someone who's been invited to a celebratory breakfast, you're proving quite the buzzkill. Care for another drink Star" Klaus asked me and I held up my almost empty drink. Elijah sighs deeply "well, Niklaus, if anything indeed has killed the "buzz," as you say, perhaps it was because murdering Father alienated the one person who truly knows how to defeat Dahlia" Elijah said.
"No, I for one did it just because I hate your father" I said and took a sip of my new drink. "If Freya wants to be part of this family, she should be willing to accept us, warts and all" Klaus said. "Elijah's right, Freya loved Mikael, and you've likely ruined everything" Rebekah said. "And you two had a deal going, you can't tell me you didn't feel somewhat bad about killing Mikael" she said to me. I was silent as I stared at my drink. "Pity, whatever shall I do" Klaus said "whatever you please, apparently" Elijah yelled.
Klaus slams his hand angrily against the table "do not mistake my high spirits for lack of clarity! I know full well the threat we face. And, I intend to deal with it, personally" Klaus said. Elijah gives him an annoyed and skeptical look, but their conversation is interrupted by the sound of high heels clacking loudly against the stone floor in the next room. Klaus is immediately suspicious of the noise "someone's here" he says and Klaus and I stand up and rush to the courtyard as Elijah and Rebekah follow behind us.
