13. nct 127 : moments that break them after a break-up

[✿] — TAEIL. that first night of coming home to...nothing. no one to say his habitual 'honey, i'm home' to. no 'hello.' no hugs. no kisses. no smell of your cooking or baking. no sound of you softly humming to the music as you go about your night around the house. nothing but the empty space that feels way too large and unnecessary now that you're not here anymore.

[✿] — JOHNNY. when he looks at your instagram feed and sees that his pictures and your couple photos are no longer there — it's the moment of realization that it really is over between you two; traces of him completely erased on your social media and in your life. then going back to his own feed to see evidences of what you guys once were, before shakily pressing the 'delete' button on all of them.

[✿] — TAEYONG. when he makes breakfast for two out of habit but realizes that you're no longer there to eat it with him. he laughs at himself — a horrible, empty sound — and tears sting his eyes as he looks down at the food. he can't help but think about how it's your favorite.

[✿] — YUTA. it's been quite a while since the breakup and the last time he saw you. all this time, the pain is a dull ache and he pushed it all down, distracting himself with work and other things in life. but what truly breaks him is running into you one day when you're with your new partner. and what's worse, he sees that you're looking at them the same way you used to look at him.

[✿] — DOYOUNG. the moment his parents ask him about you and he realizes that he has to tell them you're not together anymore; that you're no longer in each other's lives. "how has y/n been?" he doesn't even know. it's been so long since you've last seen or talked to each other.

[✿] — JAEHYUN. when he sees the promise ring that you left behind on the table as he hears the door slam. he didn't mean to say all those things, he didn't mean to say it was over between you two. and now as he stares at the ring, horrible realization creeps into him that you're never, ever coming back.

[✿] — JUNGWOO. the moment his phone beeps, notifying a calender event only to see that it's your anniversary date soon, but realizing that it no longer matters. he feels an actual physical sting in his heart as he thinks about how you would have spent the day if you were still together, and where it all went wrong.

[✿] — MARK. when he hears good news that makes him so excited and his first instinct is to call you to tell you about it, only to realize the two of you aren't together anymore. but it's too late and you have picked up the phone and oh god, he hasn't heard your voice in quite a while. he feels like he just might break down right then.

[✿] — HAECHAN. it happens on stage; he's performing a ballad song and his mind flashes to you as he sings your favorite line. memories of you burst into his mind; an image of you smiling at him as he sang it to you so many times when you were together and despite the sound of music and the cheers of thousands of fans, his world stills and he hears nothing except for the faint sound of your voice singing along as if you're right beside him. he almost misses his next part as he gets temporarily lost in a world where you and him are still together.
