"I think I'm in love with you."

The sentence was calmly spoken, as if you had just told him it looked like it was going to rain outside. Glancing away from the dish he had stopped washing, Eunwoo looked to you beside him, still methodically drying the bowl he'd handed you a moment ago.

Nothing about this moment felt supercharged with emotions or heavy from ardent confessions. It was entirely mundane, two friends washing up after sharing a meal together. This was something you always did together every Sunday too. Hanging out, watching movies, lazing around, cooking and eating together. Sometimes you would joke about how easier things would be if you just lived together. After all, there was only a handful of times he could remember when the other would go back to their respective home during the weekend.

Your lives were entwined. Because you were friends, right?

Placing down the dry bowl, you held out your hand for the next one. Eunwoo realised then he was gripping it too tightly. He resumed scrubbing it off before hastily passing it over to you. "I mean, I am in love with you. There's not really anything to think about. I've loved you for a while, I suppose."

"You suppose?" he echoed, a small chuckle leaving him. This was by far the most peculiar love confession he'd ever experienced. Frowning, he thought over the times anyone had told them they loved him. Normally his heart would beat unevenly, making him feel uncomfortable with nerves.

Right now, Eunwoo's heartbeat was even, as calm as your admission had been. It confused him. Shouldn't he feel the rush of something over those words? He'd never considered you as someone he'd hear such a confession from. That didn't mean he didn't love you, though. You were his right hand, an extension of his soul. Where he was in this world, he saw you right next to him in it. His ride or die. His confidant.

... His everything.

Blinking slowly, Eunwoo turned to stare at you. Picking up on his gaze, you caught his eye, a small knowing smile spreading your lips. You're only realising it now too? That smile asked, and he felt his lips twitch, eager to respond back.

Maybe.

Could what you already have together be something more than a deep friendship? You were everything to him, and if he lost that, lost you, it would destroy him. Could he entertain having more with you? He already held you, slept in the same bed with you, knew your curves well. There was even that one time when you were feverish, and he had helped you into a bath. He hadn't looked – much – but he had seen you. Wouldn't he know by now if he wanted more from you, from your body physically? Wasn't there supposed to be a level of attraction that blinded you over the other person when it came to love? He couldn't deny you were beautiful. It had been the first thought he had when he saw you seven years ago. You had overwhelmed him that day with your smile and kindness. He can't remember a time since where he hadn't looked at you for everything.

Perhaps he had loved you from that first moment and didn't register it.

Eunwoo sighed. This was particularly confusing.

"It's not that hard to think about, is it?" you teased, your hand diving into the sink un-gloved, reaching for something to clean and dry. Eunwoo stopped you with his gloved hand, and you turned to him curiously. "You look like your brain's about to implode. It's not a big deal, Eunwoo. I love you. That doesn't need to destroy you, you know. You could just let me be."
