Today's the day of Taehyung's competition and you're pretty nervous. You're probably even more nervous than he is right now. You quickly grab your bag as you make your way into the swimming pool. The others should be watching too, so you're all here to support him, which hopefully will give him some more confidence. As you walk past the locker room you hear someone shouting your name. You turn around to see Taehyung smiling at you. He's already in his swimming shorts and has a towel draped over his shoulders and neck. Why does he have to be so goddamn gorgeous?

"Hi"

As he walks towards you, you notice that he has his cap and goggles already in his hand. He flashes you his charming smile as he asks,

"Hey, you came?" "Of course! You invited me so here I am."

"I'm glad you came." "How are you, are you nervous?"

He shakes his head 'no', but the look on his face tells otherwise. You gently place your hand on his bicep and tell him,

"You've nothing to be nervous about. Your friends and family are here to support you. You're gonna be okay no matter what."

He smiles brightly before pulling you against his chest, catching you by surprise as he embraces you tightly. "You're great you know that? You always manage to make me feel better. I really like that."

"I'm just trying to help." You say as he gently pulls back. "Thank you for that."

Suddenly his eyes land on something in your bag as he curiously looks at it. Trying to figure out what it is.

"What's that?" He asks.

You look at your bag to see that it's partly open, showing the gift you got for him. You instantly snatch your bag away from him as you close it properly. "Ah is it a secret?" He smirks.

"No! It's something for someone special."

His face falls as he swallows the lump in his throat. "Ah I see, I thought it was something for m... never mind. I've to go now."

His cold tone surprises you as he turns on his heels and starts to walk back to the locker rooms. You frown as you watch him walk away.

"What has gotten into him?" You mumble softly as you walk towards the tribune to see everyone else already sitting there.

"Ah Y/N! You made it!" Hoseok shouts.

You walk towards them and see them smiling brightly, all excited to see him swim. You sit down next to Seokjin as he says, "I'm glad you made it.""Me too."

"What took you so long to get here?" Jimin asks before shoving a handful of chips in his mouth, making Yoongi laugh.

"I saw Tae. Actually he saw me and yelled my name so it was kind of hard to ignore him." "He must be in a good mood."

"Well.. he was but suddenly he just left without saying anything." You tell them, still confused about his sudden mood change.

Jungkook crooks his eyebrow as he thinks of a reason why his friend responded like that. "Really? That's weird.." "I know right?"
