Summary: Working under the same company, you and Jungwoo had become pretty close friends. However, something you saw happen on live television wasn't exactly anything you were expecting from him.

You were happy you got to go off to NCT's practice room to have lunch with Jungwoo since you hadn't seen him in a while. He was busy with promotions, and you were busy getting ready for a comeback, so your schedules were kind of clashing at the moment. However, you'd managed to sneak away during your break to sit on the floor of a different practice room with your close friend and his group.

Out of everyone at the company, you liked Jungwoo the best. He was a little quieter than most, but he made up for it in smiles and excitement. He always seemed happy about whatever he was doing which made you laugh in endearment. Jungwoo was truly a good friend.

The first time you met him was back when you were a trainee still living in the dungeon. A few older idols had offered to take a bunch of the trainees out to the park, and you were one of the handful of them who got to go. Among the group of seniors was Jungwoo, who chose to stick with Lucas and Ten at the time. He seemed shy but you couldn't blame him because you were pretty shy back then too.

He didn't really seem to pay attention to you. You weren't offended by it or anything, but you felt a bit awkward around him. Ten tried to make conversation with everyone, and Lucas was so loud that he was hard to ignore. But Jungwoo chose to stay more in the background and observe than to say much.

You'd gotten along with a few of the girls, who had mentioned they'd seen your dancing and thought you would make for a great performer. You had thanked them and excused yourself to go wander around alone and get some fresh air. While you enjoyed being with your seniors, you wanted some quiet time to clear your head. Being a trainee was stressful work, after all.

You were sitting on a swing for a while before somebody came up and sat in the one beside you. You looked over and saw Jungwoo, a bright but shy smile forming on his face. You offered one back and watched as his cheeks flushed a soft pink that you probably wouldn't have noticed if you weren't really paying attention.

"Hello," his voice was soft but still happy, "you're ___, right?"

You nodded, not really knowing what to say back. You usually had something to say even thought you were relatively shy at the time, but your head was clear of words now.

But Jungwoo somehow ended up doing most of the talking. You never thought he was the talkative kind of person, but he spoke to you freely like you were a friend. You managed to come up with a few things to say along the way, which made him laugh and smile. By the time you had to go back, he had smiled and told you that you were a good listener.

He went out of his way to talk to you ever since.

And now, here you were. Almost a year later, and you two were closer than ever. You definitely weren't as shy as you were back then, but Jungwoo was just as soft and cute as always.

"When do you go back?" Jungwoo asked as he looked down at his lunch, chopsticks balanced between his fingers.

You picked your phone up off the floor and checked the time. "Six minutes."

You smiled when you saw the pout on his face. "That's too soon, you just got here!"

"I know, but you know how it is." you shrugged with a sigh. The life of an idol was a very busy one where breaks hardly existed. "I'll see you at the music festival in two days, though. My group is performing right before you."
