Lucifer POV:

I immediately got home, furious. My "mom" stood at the bottom of the stairs, staring at me in confusion.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"Where's Thrax?"

"The parasite is in his room. Now I want you to freeze." She grabbed my arm tightly and pulled a piece of pink hair off of my sweater. "What is this, Lucifer?"

"Mom, I-"

"I'm not your mother until I say so. What is it? Where did it come from?" She gasped. "A light one. You've been hanging with a LIGHT ONE!"

"I wasn't hanging with her-"

"It's a her?!"

"I wasn't around anyone all day...Neptune." I used her first name when she was mad at me which was 99% of the time. "I was alone. Maybe someone brushed up against me."

"Someone better have," she said with a huff before walking off.

Terry must've brushed off me, but then again...Terry had blue hair. That was a conversation for later. Right now, I needed to yell at someone. I stormed up the stairs and burst into Thrax's room, furious.

"WHAT THE HECK, THRAX?!" I screamed.

"Ooh, I'm going to tell Mom you said 'heck'," Onyx, my younger Not-sister said.

"Oh, shut up, you little snitch."

"I'm also going to tell her you called me a-"

I closed the door with magic, muffling her bratty voice. Thrax was not doing what I expected him to do, though. He was on the bed eating what I hoped was not a heart, sipping a small amount of wine, and looking at a Wine Enthusiast Magazine, WITH  glasses. Thrax apparently didn't notice me. He finally looked up and pulled away the glasses, throwing them halfway across the room, but not well enough.

"I'm farsighted," He said very quickly.

I ignored that part. "Are you really that helpless to the point where you need to go back to your old villain schemes?!"

"To be fair, I already reverted back to my villain schemes. I took over a germ mafia, nearly killed this old, disgusting guy, and fell in a pit of alcohol."

I raised an eyebrow and then rolled my eyes just as Thrax began looking at the magazine again. "You told me you were going to do something successful. Go back to school."

"I do go to school...summer school." Thrax began snickering and fell back on the bed, laughing. The joke wasn't even that funny. There was no joke. He sat up. "Now that doesn't excuse the fact that you were hanging with a light one."

"Did you say the l-word?" Onyx asked, entering the room.

"Mhm, you were probably "snogging"," he said in a British accent.

"First of all, I don't say that. Second, we're not close at all."

"Sure," Onyx said. "Just wait until I tell Mom that you were being with a LIGHT one."

"Thrax is stealing with a child."

Onyx laughed.

Thrax's face fell. "Are you serious?"

"Thrax, I know I'm not your guardian."

"No, you're not," Thrax said, looking back at the magazine.

"You act like one," Onyx said.

"But your life is a mess."

"No it's not."

"Yes, it is," Onyx said.

"You don't go to school."

"Summer school," Thrax said. "Plus my grades are beyond average."

Onyx shrugged.

"You're a criminal."

"A famous one."

"Nobody knows you," Onyx said.

"You don't even earn any money."

"Neither do you," Thrax said. "Or you, Onyx, so shut your mouth."

"You don't get it, do you?"

"What are you trying to say about me?" Thrax stood up and spread out all of his tendrils, while I spread out my wings.

"Ooh...FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" Onyx chanted.

Thrax grabbed her by the foot with one of his tendrils and flung her out of the room before slamming the door shut as loud as possible.

"Now are you happy?"

I looked at the door before smiling. "Yeah."

He smiled, too, grinning in a non-threatening way. He pulled me into a hug.

"Don't you ever think that there's more to dark ones than killing people?"

"No, not really."

"I do. I don't want to spend the rest of my life being hated. I want to do something good."

"BOYS, WHAT DID YOU SAY ABOUT ONYX?!" Neptune screamed from downstairs.

"UGH!" We both said at the same time.
