Celeste POV

A.N (contains the mentioning of sex. I don't know if this counts as mature, but you have been warned.)

"Happy birthday, Celeste!" Phoenix said, hugging me tightly.

Well, a hug from Phoenix isn't very tight, but it's good enough.

"Thank you, Nix," I said, repeating what I'd said to everyone.

It was raining outside. I let Phoenix inside. Bellroc followed her.

"If it makes you feel any better, you can go upstairs. That's where all the other teenagers should be," I said.

"Um...okay."

"It'll be fine," Celeste said, going upstairs, "No one will do anything stupid."

Phoenix POV:

"Alright, Phoenix, I want to set some rules for you," Bellroc said, just as I was about to join Cel.

I set Celeste's presents on her coffee table. Bellroc bent down.

"Why are you being so serious?"

"Because this is your first party since your full demigod transformation, and I want you to know that there are some limits and some benefits."

"Okay, what?"

"First of all, go easy on the booze."

'She knows what booze is?'

"Us demigods, we don't get drunk. However we do get very, very, very sleepy."

I nodded.

"Second, I'm not a teenager, but I've seen them do some...not unspeakable but questionable acts under pressure."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, whatever you do, do not give in to peer pressure."

"I never have...and I don't drink."

"Good."

"Wait...but...how do you know that?"

"Because Skrael and I have learned it the hard way."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Fourth of July, '94. It wasn't that big of a deal. Now go enjoy yourself."

I hugged her and then flew upstairs, but I noticed several people giving me weird glances. And it was all because of my demigod-ness, wasn't it?

"Relax, Nix, it's just a party," Terri said, surprising me as he wrapped his arm around me.

"Yeah, but I get the feeling that nobody likes me."

"I mean, you've only been a demigod for, like...one year, but look on the bright side, we made lifelong friends..."

"And lifelong enemies," I said, thinking of Thrax and the other highschoolers eyeballing me evilly.

"Now...if you'll excuse me...I'm going to get a mini corn dog," Terri said. He then walked away.

Everyone was gathered in Celeste's huge bonus room. There was a large couch that most people were sitting on and a TV in front. There was also a coffee table in front of the couch with chairs sitting around the room. A lot of the teenagers were holding fancy glasses that looked to be holding some kind of alcoholic beverage. I heeded Bellroc's warning because the last thing I wanted was to make a fool of myself and clonk out while everyone was playing Spin the Bottle or some other ridiculous game.
