Celeste POV

Dinner was exceedingly awkward the way we all sat around the table, looking at each other. We all had secrets to hide—especially me and Lucifer. (More especially me.) It's not every day that you meet an old enemy who now preys on dead people by the side of the road and had a remarkable change in fashion that honestly made me envious. It's not every day that one of your best friends is frequently bullied and tortured at school. It's not every day that two of your classmates are found dead within the span of two days. But this secret needed to be shared lest something straight up awful would happen. Lucifer's residence was at stake. I could either lie and end this night on a good note, or I could tell the truth and Lucifer would get severely punished. Of course it wasn't my fault that we hd sex. It was NEVER my fault. I couldn't make any mistakes. That was just impossible for a light one. But a dark one, now, maybe they could make a few mistakes. I mean, it's not like they could do anything to fight back.

"Mom, I want to talk to you about something. All of you. Tonight," I said.

"Well, make it quick. I have an online class I need to attend," Silver said.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lucifer asked, turning to me.

"Yes. There's no point in keeping it a secret."

And so...after dinner we gathered Mom, Proteus, Silver, and Rune on the couch. Lucifer sat next to Mom, but I was afraid he'd get punched in the face once I broke the news. He looked calm, so I told them in a calm manner.

"Mom, family, I have something to announce. Now...I don't want you to get mad, but...I'm pregnant."

"WHAT?!" Mom screamed, making me cringe.

"Kill it," Silver said, suddenly.

"Silver, shut up. Lucifer..." She turned to him and slapped him across the face...hard. "How dare you **** my daughter?!"

"Mom, language!"

Lucifer simply sat there.

"Mom, it wasn't Lucifer's fault. It was mine! I asked him to do it. He was reluctant at first, but then he agreed. If I hadn't been so foolish and listened to him, then...well...none of this would've happened."

"I don't believe you. He must've said something to you that made you make that decision."

"What are we going to do about the baby?" Rune asked.

"Well, Celeste can keep it or get it adopted into a nice family."

"I say you should kill it."

"Silver, no one asked for your ****** OPINION!" Lucifer shouted.

"I shut the **** up!" Silver shouted, "This isn't fair."

"What's not fair?" Mom asked. "Are you pregnant, too? Did you secretly have sex with someone, too?"

"No," Silver said, hesitating a little.

Proteus sat on the couch looking frozen as an ice sculpture.

"The two of you–Celeste, Lucifer—go upstairs. Proteus and I need to talk it out a little."

"That went horrible! I never should've told her!" I said, nearly slamming the door on Lucifer. I turned around to face him. "I'm sorry that she slapped you."

"It's fine. I've been through worse."

"That dinner was the suckiest dinner in the whole history of sucky dinners!"

"Celeste, calm down," Lucifer said, grabbing my arms.

"No, you calm down!" I lowered my voice. "Sorry. I'm... so sorry. I was so stupid."

"You're not stupid."

"Yes, I am. I actually think that we'll be able to solve this murders. And I was an ignorant jerk. Who am I kidding? I still am an ignorant jerk who doesn't know what she's doing."

"It was a mistake."

"An irreversible mistake. There's nothing I can do to get rid of it."

"Abort it!" Silver shouted, walking down the hallway.

"Anything but that, *****" Lucifer told her.

He sat me down on the bed, and the two of us hugged.

"I'm sorry."

"There's no need to keep apologizing. To be fair, we were both stupid. It's not your fault, If anything, you should blame it on our classmates because their the ones who started the whole sex-at-sixteen thing. Don't beat yourself about something that you had no control over."

"That's the point...I knew I was on my period. I just wanted to prove that nothing bad would happen and that it was harmless. Besides...you don't see anyone else coming to school a teen mom."

"If you abort it, you can forget about that!" Silver said, leaning back in her swivel chair.

"Oh, SHUT UP!" Lucifer shouted. "We'll think of something, Cel, we'll think of something."
