"Alright, everyone get the plan?" I said.
We were all in a group huddle. It was Sunday afternoon. My parents were out, doing business. Celeste's were, too. No one but us knew what we had in mind.
"Break into her place," Bones said.
"Find the other blueprints," Amaya said.
"Destroy them," Celeste said.
"And get out without being noticed," Ava added.
"Good," I said.
Ava handed us each an ear piece. "Use them, please. I always get nervous when you don't respond on the walkie-talkies, plus this allows for a farther range."
"Good," Terri said.
"They won't malfunction, right?" Lucifer asked.
"Has anything I've made ever malfunctioned?" Ava asked.
"No, no, it has not," Amaya said.
We immediately headed towards her old fortress, knowing its address by heart. What we didn't count on was that someone would be waiting for us. As soon as I set foot in the room, I felt something incredibly hard bash against my head...then everything went dark.
------------------------------
I woke up, feeling my head pressed against something hard yet it had spacing. I sat up, opening my eyes. The back of my head hurt really bad. When I felt it with my hand, I felt something warm slide down...blood. I gasped and looked around, thinking and praying that this was a dream. It wasn't. We were still in the Evil Angel's workshop. I realized that I was in a cage. All my friends were in cages, too. Bones' cage was suspended in the air. I realized that my cage was surrounded by hot coals. Lucifer's had bright stage lights hanging around. I slammed my body against the cage, hoping I could do something.
"Come on, move!" I said to no one.
"Terry, stop it," Celeste said.
I looked over to her. She had brought her knees to her chest. "There is no point. I've already tried."
"There has to be some kind of way. We didn't plan this for weeks only to get CAUGHT!" I slammed myself against the cage again, yet nothing happened. Well, I hurt my shoulder. That happened. I noticed that everyone else looked gloomy and as if they were about to give up. How could we have failed this easily? I buried my head in my arms.
"No, no, no, don't do that," said a voice. A voice that certainly didn't belong to any of the team members.
I looked up to see an elderly man, sitting in another cage like ours. His cage, however, sat on a conveyor belt. I fluttered my wings and cocked my head in confusion.
"Don't be sad. She'll smell you if you're sad. If you mope, they'll get you. They all get you. They don't like gloomy faces."
"I am confused," I said.
"She can smell sorrow. She loves it. Wants to taste it. She knows that there will be sorrow once she gets---AAAH!" He screamed as the conveyor belt began moving at an extremely fast rate. It went up a hill. I lost sight of the man, but I certainly heard everything. We all did because we all winced and looked away at the sound of metal squeaking, being destroyed, bones being crushed, and cracking. There was a loud screech and a hiss.
Shadows began to creep on the wall until they formed humanoid (somewhat) figures. Some looked like people at least. Some looked like deformed monsters with too many heads, too many arms, and too many appendages. They all had wide grins on their faces. One main shadow figure walked up. They had empty eye sockets like all the rest, but reminded me a little bit of Thrax except with spikes on its arms. Its hair was long and waved with every movement, swirling around like water in a bottle. Its claws seemed to be longer than Thrax's, too.
