"I can't believe that we're harboring a dark one in here," Cel's younger sister Rune said.

"To be fair, Mom already knows," Cel said.

"Well, what are you going to do on your date?" Rune said playfully.

"Watch a movie," Cel said, looking at me.

"And why can't I join you?"

"Because it's not for kids your age," Cel added. I followed her.

"I am not a kid!" Rune shouted after us.

We sat in Cel's bonus room, turned off the lights, and turned on the TV.

"The Grudge?" I said.

She nodded.

"Resident Evil?" She suggested.

I nodded.

"Saw?" we both said at the same time.

We heard a loud banging sound. It sounded like something had run into the trash cans, head-on. We looked at the movie then at each other. Cel paused the movie, and both of us walked over to the window.

"Do you see anything?"Cel asked.

"Not really," I said.

I looked around again. Nothing. It took a while before I noticed a shadowy shape crawling towards the house.

"Lucifer, what is that?" Cel asked.

"Come on, let's find out," I said.

We went down the stairs and saw Cel's mother helping Proteus into the house. I narrowed my eyes and extended my claws. Proteus looked worse than I had the night I left. The side of his face was gushing blood, his arm looked dislocated. His wrist was broken. His arm had claw marks and maybe a few bullet holes. I had half a mind to just tell him to get his leave NOW because I hated this cruel man who I wish wasn't in my life. He collapsed on the floor.

I wondered why Celestia was even bothering to help him. I thought she hated all dark ones and had only made an exception for me. Maybe she was having a change of heart? She asked us to get the first aid kit from upstairs, but I doubt it would make a difference. If Proteus died, I really wouldn't have cared. After all, he tried to kill me, and my other "family" members didn't even try to step in. They probably just wanted to leave me to Proteus, so he could have some glory in his miserable life. Obviously I never said any of this out loud because it would be considered rude especially since Proteus looked so close to death that he could touch it. But I had a feeling that Celeste understood what I was thinking.

Celestia wanted Cel's sisters to go upstairs and turn something on. I doubt she wanted them to see Proteus die, if he did. A couple minutes after Proteus lost consciousness, and after Cel and I just stood there watching, she asked us to leave. We did as she said.

"I get the feeling you don't care," Cel said, sitting on her bed.

"Oh, you think?" I said.

"He's hurt."

"I'm well aware of that, Cel, but a friendly reminder that this man nearly killed me, and all of my other family member's simply stood there and watched him.

"Was it really that bad that you won't show any remorse?"

I glanced at the door then at her, arms crossed. She expected an answer, and if I was being honest, maybe I did feel a little bit sorry for him.

"Well, I never said that I wasn't sorry," I said, trying my hardest not to smile.

"Why do you think he's here? It's probably not to finish the job."

"Something must've happened, because there's no darn way that he'd ask for your help."
