Phoenix POV

Dinner was quiet. I wanted to tell my parents that I was leaving, but they wouldn't allow it.

"Mom, Dad, I've got something to say," I said.

They both looked at me.

"Winter starts tomorrow...and...the Order-"

They glared at me, but I continued.

"The Arcane Order moves to Arcadia tomorrow during the Winter season. Arcadia, California. And I will be joining them."

"No, you won't," Dad immediately said. Mom nodded.

"What? I've made my decision."

"You may have made yours, but we've made ours. You're not going. You'll be staying with us for winter. Spring. Summer. Fall. For the rest of your highschool years."

"That's ridiculous!"

"You know what's ridiculous?! You and your brother coming home everyday with scratches all over your face."

"Aren't you an auror? Don't you come home everyday talking about how you almost dislocated a limb," Terri said.

"That's different because the work that I do benefits the community. And you stay out of this."

"Are you saying we don't help people?" I said.

"I'm saying you and your friends are going to get yourself killed."

"You're almost getting yourself killed!"

"Enough! The Order is a bad influence on you, Terry. And I don't know what drugs they're giving you, but it's making your mind crazy."

"Dad, they're not giving me any drugs. We're demigods."

"Demigods don't exist!" Mom said.

"Stay out of this!" I said.

"Don't talk to your mother that way!"

"She's not my mom, and you're not my dad. The only people who actually accept me are the Order because they're like me! They understand me! They're the only ones who support my decisions! The only person who treats me like a daughter is Bellroc! I'm going whether you like it or not!" I then stormed off and slammed the door of my room. I threw myself onto the bed, pulled the sheets over my head, and cried.
